Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Brings Returning Favorites Back to Disney Springs — Get Ready for Shine Cake!
It’s always nice to come home, isn’t it? We’re talking, of course, about Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs!
We’ve enjoyed “coming home” to the spot since it reopened this summer. Homecomin’ has been serving a limited menu during its initial reopening phase (though it’s still been filled with goodies like Cheddar Drop Biscuits, Art’s Famous Fried Chicken, and Hummingbird Cake). But now we’ve got news that some well-loved dishes have decided to “come home,” too, so to speak… as several favorites are now back on the menu at Homecomin’!
The Starters Menu here is already strong with Thigh High Chicken Biscuits, Church Lady Deviled Eggs, and Bunch of Puppies on the menu.
And now the returning Key West Shrimp Cocktail is joining the lineup of Starters again! Seasoned shrimp is tossed with avocado, mango, cucumber, and house-made cocktail sauce. It’s served with buttermilk crackers.
And under Buns & Such, you’ll notice the return of The Country Club sandwich: it’s grilled chicken topped with white cheddar, pecan-smoked bacon, red jalapeño jelly, lettuce and tomato served together on a brioche bun.
A comfort item coming back to the Salads & Such options is Addie Mae’s Chicken & Dumpling Soup! Seriously, get a load of this…
But if you can’t make it to Homecomin’ right now, don’t worry… the Chef’s got you covered, because he’s shared the recipe!

But the comfort food doesn’t stop there… Main Plates once again include Braised Short Ribs, a slow-cooked “fancy pot roast” served over mashed potatoes. Yes, it’s as good as it looks. Currently, this dish is served with French green beans (as opposed to the broccoli rabe pictured in our dish below).
But we saved what might be the best for last: Chef Art Smith’s signature SHINE CAKE is back for dessert!
If you’re not yet familiar, this rich butter cake is actually soaked in a Moonshine Syrup! This big-kids only dessert is served with vanilla bean ice cream.
Seriously: SAVE ROOM FOR CAKE. Whether Shine or Hummingbird Cake, you can’t really go wrong.
