Photos and Review! Dawa Bar is Now OPEN in Disney World and We Ordered a Boozy Version of a Classic Fave!

We hope you’ve got your trekking shoes on because we’re taking you with us on a trip all the way to Africa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Africa in Disney’s Animal Kingdom

A few days ago, we noticed some signs that several bars around Disney World might be preparing to reopen. And just like that, Dawa Bar has now reopened in Animal Kingdom! Come take a (virtual) tour of one of our favorite places to relax, soak up the atmosphere, and enjoy a delicious drink!

Guests will find Dawa Bar right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Harambe Village in the Africa section of Animal Kingdom.

Dawa Bar

Dawa Bar officially reopened on Saturday, and it looks like a lot of guests were ready to make their return — there was a 30-35 minute wait when we stopped by!

Dawa Bar Line

The line for Dawa Bar has distancing markers to indicate where guests should stand, and there are taped-off areas to show the empty space that should be left between line switch-backs. There was also a Cast Member managing the line.

Here’s a look at the layout of the tables inside the open-air bar.

The Cast Member we spoke with said they only have lime garnishes at the moment, but they are offering the same menu as before!

There are plexiglass dividers in some areas around the bar.

According to a Cast Member, Dawa Bar is only open from 11AM-3:30PM today. The location is starting with limited operating hours on the weekend, and they plan to adjust with time.

And since we stopped by, we figured we might as well grab a drink! We ordered the Ngumu Jungle Juice which is made with Snow Leopard Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, and Tusker’s famous Jungle Juice — also known as the famous POG Juice, made with a mix of passionfruit, orange, and guava juices!

This drink was super refreshing and since it’s made with the classic Disney POG Juice, it brought back lots of happy memories!

The Snow Leopard Vodka used in the Ngumu Jungle Juice is also available in other drinks around Animal Kingdom, including the Himalayan Ghost at Thirsty River Bar!

If you’re looking for a refreshing cocktail with a classic Disney flavor, the Ngumu Jungle Juice is a great option! You can snag this drink for $13.

With our first visit to the reopened Dawa Bar in the books, we’re off to see what else is new around Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Cheers!
