NEWS! An Update to the Florida Alcohol Ban Allows Select Locations to Re-Open in Disney World!
Disney World restaurants have started to re-open at the Disney Resorts and Disney Springs. When the parks open up again next week, multiple quick-service and table-service locations will be available for guests to visit as well.
At this time, Advance Dining Reservations in the parks are only available to guests who have had select reservations canceled due to the closures. However, since Florida has been changing its health and safety guidelines to stay up-to-date with the unfolding situation, Disney restaurants have also had to make a few changes to follow these orders.
Previously, the Florida government issued an order where bars that made 50% of their gross revenue from the sale of alcohol were forced to close. However, that order has now been amended — to the benefit of several Disney World locations.
According to the new statement issued on July 1st, “Vendors licensed to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, and also licensed to offer food service, may continue to operate as restaurants.” This means that the restaurants that are licensed to sell both alcohol and food are able to operate with an indoor capacity limited to 50% with social distancing measures in place.
This also affects Oga’s Cantina in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Originally slated to continue its closure when the park reopened on July 15th, this new order gives Oga’s Cantina the opportunity to welcome guests again since it sells both food and alcohol.
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar has also re-opened to everyone in Disney Springs following its previous closure after only 24 hours of business.
Since this is an evolving situation, we will keep you updated with more news on Disney restaurants and Florida guidelines!
