Here’s a FIRST LOOK at Mobile Dine Check-In at Disney World
One of the ways Disney World will be encouraging guests to reduce contact upon reopening is by utilizing the Mobile Order service at eligible quick-service restaurants.
But for table service restaurants, Disney World has added a new feature to its My Disney Experience app called Mobile Dine Check-In so that once you arrive for your dining reservation, you can bypass the host stand. Let’s see it in action!
Several restaurants will offer Mobile Dine Check-In (click here to see the full list), and we got to use it for the first time this morning at Disney’s Riviera Resort’s Topolino’s Terrace!
Before entering the restaurant, we noticed a Mobile Dine Check-In sign with a large QR code to scan.
Once we scanned the sign with our devices, it automatically launched the My Disney Experience app and pulled up Mobile Dine Check-In. We scanned the QR code using the normal camera feature on our smartphones.
We confirmed our reservation time and number of guests and tapped the blue “Start Check-In” button to tell the restaurant we had arrived.
The next screen asks you to confirm your party mix.
The next screen asked if we had any special accessibility requirements.
We could select if anyone in our group was celebrating something.
And finally we confirmed we’d completed all the steps to check-in and were prompted to provide a phone number to receive additional information by text.
We received a text that we had been checked in and would receive an additional text when our table was ready. While we didn’t have hardly any wait, we were free to walk around until our table was ready.
And after that, we met by a Cast Member who seated us right away at our table.
All in all, we really enjoyed the new Mobile Dine Check-In feature because it saved us the time and hassle of waiting in line! We hope this new feature sticks around because it’s quite handy as well as contactless!
