NEWS: Temporary Closure Announced for Disney Springs in Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney, and Disney Stores
Disney has announced a date for the temporary closure of the dining, shopping, and entertainment districts of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort in light of concerns over the Coronavirus.
Disney will close all of its owned and operated locations at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World and the Downtown Disney District in Disneyland Resort effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020.
Disney notes that “Individual tenants will make decisions on whether to continue or adjust operations.”
A closure of all Disney Stores in North America will also take effect on March 17, 2020. Guests may still shop on shopDisney.com.
A reminder that the Walt Disney World Resort hotels (as well as Vero Beach Resort) will be closing at 5:00 PM on Friday, March 20th, so guests may make necessary arrangements in the coming days. Disney reminds that these measures are being taken in an abundance of caution and in the best interest of the guests and the company’s cast members.
