Disney World Policy For Theme Park Ticket Purchases Affected By Coronavirus Closure
In light of the announced closure of Walt Disney World theme parks in response to concerns about the Coronavirus, Disney is providing information for upcoming guests who may be adjusting their travel plans.
As a reminder, the closure is set to begin “at the close of business on Sunday, March 15th, through the end of the month.” At this time, Resort hotels and Disney Springs will remain open for guests.
As per the screenshot below from the Walt Disney World website, Disney shares the following in regards to ticket purchases: “Unexpired multi-day theme park tickets with unused days, or date-specific theme park tickets with a start date on or before March 31, 2020 will automatically be extended to use any date through December 15, 2020. If you are unable to visit by December 15, 2020 you may apply the value of a wholly unused ticket toward the purchase of a ticket for a future date.”
Here, Disney also addresses Florida Resident Discovery Tickets, stating that they “may be used through July 31, 2020.”
In regards to extra-ticket events such as Disney After Hours, Disney Villains After Hours, and Disney Early Morning Magic, those purchases will be automatically refunded for dates from March 16, 2020 through March 31, 2020.
We will continue to keep our readers posted throughout the day as information becomes available.
We here at DFB have been tracking the steps that Disney has taken around the parks to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. You can learn more about that here.
