Review! We’re Celebrating Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year at Red Dragon Spice Traders!

We hope you’ve been having fun following along with us on our exploration of Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year event!

Red Dragon Spice Traders Booth

We wish you could be here with us, but hopefully, you’ll get the chance to visit this year’s multi-cultural festival celebrating 2020 — the “Year of the Mouse”! Out next stop is Red Dragon Spice Traders, where we’re expecting to find some HOT and tasty treats!

Red Dragon Spice Traders is one of the four Lunar New Year food booths you’ll find at this year’s Lunar New Year fest which runs through February 9th, 2020. This is the spot you’ll want to hit up if you’re looking for a snack with a little KICK!

Red Dragon Spice Trader’s Menu

There are three food items you can get here — the Firecracker Three Cup Chicken Wings for $7.50 are crispy chicken wings tossed in spicy red chili pepper sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, and soy. It was a big hit with us last year!

New this year is a savory Shrimp & Ginger Dumplings for $8.25 served with a soy reduction and sriracha-mayonnaise. It was SOOOO YUM!

On the sweeter side, you’ll find the Purple Yam Macaron for $6.50. A returning favorite from last year’s fest, the Mickey-shaped almond macaron shell is filled with creamy purple yam and condensed vanilla crème fraîche. It’s also definitely one of the event’s prettiest treats, in our opinion!

As for drinks, Red Dragon Spice Traders features a Honey Lime Green Tea for $6 which you can also get spiked with bourbon for $13! It had a nice mild flavor, and the honey definitely came through, although the drink wasn’t too sweet for us. We had the spiked version (of course) but we didn’t find the bourbon to be too overpowering, it’s quite refreshing!

Red Dragon Spice Traders is also the place to score bottles of Logic Hanamachi, a Japanese rice lager, for $11!
