And while the celebration doesn’t officially start until this Friday, we’re taking a sneak peek some of this year’s offerings! We’re so happy a festival-favorite of ours will be returning — the interactive Paint By Number murals!

If you haven’t attended an Epcot’s Festival of the Arts before, then you may not know about this special event! Every year, guests are invited to collaborate with artists in creating fabulous murals — think of them like public, interactive art installations!

Paint By Number

While the basic concept behind the paint-by-number murals at Epcot’s Festival of the Arts is the same as the ones you probably did as a kid — these aren’t your momma’s Paint by Numbers! These murals are HUGE! On average, each mural takes 2 days to complete with guests filling in each number — one square at a time!

Last Year’s Paint by Number Mural

In previous years, the interactive paint-by-number murals have been over by the World Showcase near Refreshment Port, but that’s not where you’ll find them at this year’s fest! Instead, they’ve been relocated to Future World where Mouse Gear formerly was. The sessions for the paint-by-number murals are from 11 AM to 5 PM daily for the duration of the festival and it’s totally free to participate!

Festival of the Arts Passport

There will be five new paint-by-number mural designs this year, while the very last design will depict Figment “welcoming in” the next Epcot festival — Flower and Garden starting on March 4th, 2020! You’ll also receive a special commemorative postcard once you finish painting your square!

Don’t forget there are lots of other experiences to enjoy at this year’s Festival of the Arts including all the food, entertainment, and OF COURSE — merch! You’ll also want to check out the three new attractions that are also opening in Epcot on Friday including Awesome Planet, Canada Far and Wide and The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along which has a special Tale as Old as Time exhibit — read more about it HERE!
