Come on in to See Our REVIEW of Some of the NEW Food and Drink Items at Homecomin’ in Disney Springs!
Hey, DFB friends! Raise your hand if you’re a fan of Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’?! (FYI, we’re currently raising both hands!)
We’re quite fond of this Disney Springs staple, and are always thrilled to find new items on its menu! Recently, we spotted a few new items on the Homecomin’ menu, and of course, we had to try some of them out to share our review with you — no need to twist our arm!
New Homecomin’ Starter
Okra Fries
Okra Fries have been added to the list of starters at Homecomin’! We were definitely intrigued when we saw this new addition on the menu!
The Okra Fries at Homecomin’ are described as hand-cut okra, lightly battered and crispy fried, and served with their delicious icebox dressing.
This okra dish was an absolute HIT! The fries themselves are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The batter packs a punch of flavor, as it’s well-seasoned with paprika and parmesan. There is nothing bland about this dish!
While some okra dishes can have a bit of a strange texture, there was none of that here! The okra itself is soft, but definitely keeps its shape. We don’t know what southern spell they used to create this, but the texture is great!
The okra fries are perfectly complimented by Homecomin’s own icebox dressing, which is so yummy we could put it on EVERYTHING! This dressing is also served with their chicken tenders and burgers, and we shamelessly ask for “extra please!” anytime we see it as part of a dish.
Available for $11, this dish is great for sharing, and we will definitely be trying it over and over again!
New Homecomin’ Drink
Floradora
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is notorious for having delicious drinks. So, of course, when we saw a new one added to their menu, we had to give it a try!
The Floradora is made with Fords gin, freshly muddled raspberries, lime juice, simple syrup, and a splash of Q Spectacular Ginger Beer.
This drink was fresh, unique, and elevated! The color of it makes it look like a standard, sweet, mixed drink — but we were quickly reminded to never judge a book by its cover!
The Floradora has a complex flavor profile due to the gin and ginger beer. The muddled raspberries and ginger beer lend a great “texture”, and the lime juice gives it a strong bite!
We found ourselves finding something “new” about this drink with every sip. We just love drinks that keep us guessing! Just know that if you’re looking for a sweet drink on the menu, this ain’t it! Although the gorgeous drink features raspberries and simple syrup, it’s definitely not a sweet drink! You can try out the Floradora for yourself for $12!
Stay tuned for additional reviews as we look forward to trying even more new Homecomin’ items in the future! Cheers, friends!
