BEST Disney Dining Plan Quick Service VALUES for 2020!

It’s the new year, which means it’s time to talk about how to best plan for your Disney World vacation in 2020! As you know, we here at DFB are all about helping you make sure your time and dollars at the Disney parks are well spent, which is why we’ve put together a list of our top quick-service picks for 2020 for you!

Primo Piatto

These restaurants will help you stretch that Disney Dining Plan credit without skimping on food quality or atmosphere! And remember — quick-service spots don’t require an advance dining reservation! So without further delay, here are our top nine recommendations for a satisfying fill-up with the BEST value at Disney World!

Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort

Primo Piatto may have just opened in December at Disney’s Riviera Resort, but it’s already made our list of top quick-service spots for 2020! That’s because this fast-casual trattoria is servin’ up some seriously delicious eats.

Primo Piatto Sign

We’re talking Grilled Hanger Steak for $17.99, Roasted Half Chicken for $15.99, and Shrimp Pasta for $15.99. Let’s not forget they also have a tasty Bacon Cheddar Burger for $14.49 or a lighter Tuna Niçoise Salad for $13.99 if you prefer. Of course, being suckers for French offerings, we can’t resist their Croque Monsieur for $12.99.

Primo Piatto Tuna Nicoise Salad

Pair any of these entrees with a glass of wine for $12 or a Blue Marble Bloody Mary or Mojito for $10, and you’ve got a Disney Dining Plan credit worth up to $29.99 — a major triumph!

Adding to the wonderful food is the atmosphere. For a quick-service, this place is mega posh. With warm, inviting decor, attractive decorative tiles on the floors, an open kitchen, and lots of little upscale touches, this spot feels truly at another level.

Primo Piatto

Guests also receive food plated on real plates with cloth napkins and metal cutlery — a major jump up from the standard paper and plastic Disney-ware most other quick-service spots serve with.

Trays and REAL Cutlery

We were quite impressed with everything we tried at Primo Piatto. If you find yourself cruisin’ to or from Epcot on the Disney Skyliner (or you’re staying here!) it’s worth swinging by for a bite or two!

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Hollywood Studios

Now that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is open in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is dishing out a galaxy of intergalactic delights!

Docking Bay 7 Dining Room

Choose from the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast for $18.99, Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs for $16.99, or Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip $15.49! And to wash it all down, how ’bout a Takodana Quencher for $15 or Surly Sarlacc for $13? Add an entree and adult beverage prices up and we’re looking at a Disney Dining Plan value of up to $33.99 per person! That’s out-of-this-world AH-mazing!

Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip

We gotta say, we’re a big fan of the specialty cocktails at the hard-to-get-into at Oga’s Cantina, but Docking Bay 7’s are equally good (and don’t require and Advance Dining Reservation!).

Takodana Quencher

The food here may have odd names but is actually very familiar and approachable. There’s likely something to please everyone in a group, even kids. A real draw of the location though is the incredible theming. You ARE dining in a cargo bay, after all! Take a few moments to explore this detailed space. You never know what (or who!) you’ll find hanging around! 😉

Creatures on display!

In the mood for otherworldly Star Wars-inspired food outside of Docking Bay 7? We can never go wrong with a Ronto Wrap at nearby Ronto Roasters. You won’t get as much bang for your Dining Plan bucks here as you would in Docking Bay 7, but it’s all REALLY tasty, and many of the same adult drinks at Docking Bay 7 are served here.

Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe at Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe is a returning champion of best value Disney World quick-service restaurants.

Lines at Local Food Cafes

You’ll find a wide variety of American, Indian, and Korean dishes among the Chinese offerings such as Sweet-and-Sour Tempura Shrimp for $13.99, Teriyaki Beef Bowl for $12.79, and Honey Chicken for $12.29. You also can’t go wrong with their American Kobe Cheeseburger for $15.99 or American Kobe Beef Hot Dog for $14.99. Add a glass of Beso Del Sol Sangria for $11 and you have a Disney Dining Plan value of up to $26.99!

Teriyaki Beef Bowl at Yak & Yeti

While the outdoor seating at Yak & Yeti is plentiful, it can fill up fast during popular meal times with both humans AND birds looking for a snack.

Seating

Want a quieter spot to eat? Grab your food and head down to the Royal Anadapur Tea Company and find some auxiliary seating overlooking Discovery River for a quieter, more scenic atmosphere!

We’ve consistently had very fresh, flavorful food at Yak and Yeti Local Foods Cafe. If you’re looking to get your fill of veggies (or crispy fried foods…you do you! 😉 ) this spot won’t disappoint. The portions are hearty and with plenty of condiments available, you can customize your meal a bit to be just what you want (We’re lookin’ at you, Thai Chili Sauce!).

La Cantina de San Angel at Epcot’s World Showcase

There’s no shortage of delicious food at Epcot which can make choosing a restaurant at this Disney park quite the challenge! But one of the spots we keep returning to year after year is La Cantina de San Angel in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion.

La Cantina de San Angel

This restaurant overlooks World Showcase Lagoon, meaning if you time your dinner just right, you’ll have prime viewing of Epcot Forever — the new nighttime specular that took over for IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth last year (or if you are going this Spring or beyond, you can check out HarmonioUS once it debuts!). We’ll repeat that: waterfront dining for the Epcot fireworks WITHOUT AN ADR! That’s major, and a big reason this is back on the list this year!

Cantina de San Angel outdoor seating

The standard Mexican fare at La Cantina de San Angel is also quite delicious, too! Choose from their Tacos de Barbacoa for $14, Tacos de Pollo for $13.75, and Tacos de Pescado for $13.75. Or, if you’re looking to fill your “deep-fried dough and cheese” quota for the day, we love their Empanadas con Queso for $12.25 (this is also a GREAT kids’ meal choice for $8.50!). As for libations, you can get a Patrón Strawberry Margarita on the Rocks for $16.25, or a Blood Orange Margarita on the Rocks for $15.50 putting your Disney Dining Plan value somewhere as high as $30.25!

Cheese Empanadas YAAAS

This location is classic Mexican food served up fresh and quick in a great location. Even in the summer, the seating area usually maintains a nice breeze and provides great views of World Showcase Lagoon. Located near the front of World Showcase, it’s conveniently accessed from most spots in Epcot.

The Polite Pig at Disney Springs

Time to give Disney Springs some love! It would be super-rude of us to not tell you about The Polite Pig! This spot is a modern take on a barbeque joint. It’s been open for a few years now, but it’s become a Disney World staple of ours!

The Polite Pig

Some of its greatest menu items include Baby Back Ribs for $23, Cedar Plank Salmon for $22, USDA Prime Brisket for $19, or Roasted Half Chicken $17! The Polite Pig has a huge bar menu too including beer, wine, and small-batch cocktails for $7-15! Depending on what your selections are, you could be looking at a Disney Dining Plan Value of around $35 — not shabby at ALL!

The Polite Pig

We won’t even start to tell you AGAIN how much we adore their phenomenal HALF POUND chocolate chip cookies or their mega, big-as-your-head Hop Salt Pretzel with beer cheese fondue. That’s basically our 2 favorite food groups in one location — huge cookies and pretzels with cheeeeeeese!

Hop Salt Pretzel

If you’re in the Springs and lookin’ for some tasty food with a great variety, swing on by! We haven’t been disappointed yet!

Tangierine Cafe at Epcot’s World Showcase

We’re heading back to Epcot’s World Showcase to visit the Morocco Pavilion’s Tangierine Cafe! Back before vegetarian and vegan dining options were everywhere in Disney World, Tangierine Cafe was all up on the vegetarian game. They still provide great options for the meatless crowd, and it’s STILL a great value in 2020! And don’t worry — they have TONS of tasty meats on their menu too!

Morocco’s Tangierine Cafe

Carnivorous offerings include Shawarma Chicken and Lamb Platter for $16.95, Shawarma Lamb Platter for $15.99 and Mediterranean Sliders Combo for $16.95! With beverages including specialty coffee, beer, and daiquiris, you can stretch your Disney Dining Plan value here to around $26.95!

Vegetarian Platter at Tangierine Cafe

We love this spot for a variety of reasons, but the freshly prepared, unique options on the menu are definitely the biggest one! This is far from your average burgers and fries, but not so different that most guests won’t enjoy it. Plus, you’re served a MASSIVE amount of food here! Next time you’re strolling past the Morocco Pavilion, give Tangierine Cafe a shot!

Satu’li Canteen at Animal Kingdom

Satu’li Canteen in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is on our MUST-DO list whenever we visit Disney World. Not only are their bowls completely customizable, but they’re SUPER DELICIOUS! You’ll find this quick-service restaurant in Pandora: The World of Avatar close to Windtraders — where you exit from Flight of Passage (and after waiting in that long line, you’re likely to be hungry!).

Satu’li Canteen

The Combination Grilled Beef and Chicken Bowl for $16.99 is a huge amount of food (you could even share it and save a quick-service credit if you’re not famished!), and a glass of Banshee Pinot Noir will set you back $11. There are a few other Pandora-exclusive beers as well as their Dreamwalker Sangria to choose from, too! Any way you slice it, you’re looking at a Disney Dining Plan Value of up to $27.99!

Combination Bowl at Satu’li Canteen is great for sharing!

The unique and customizable bowls here are the star of the show. And with SO many healthy, fresh options, this is FAR from your average theme park fare. Bowls not yo thang? Look to the kids’ menu for the incredible Cheeseburger Steamed Pods (seriously, these are REAL good, y’all.). We still miss these on the adult menu! BUT, if you ask a Cast Member when you order, they’ll often serve you the Cheeseburger Pods a la carte!

Flame Tree Barbecue at Animal Kingdom

The motto of Animal Kingdom’s Flame Tree Barbecue should be, “Come hungry, leave completely and utterly stuffed!” This spot is known for its slow-smoked barbecue and, guys, it does NOT disappoint! This location made our list again this year thanks to the HUGE amount of amazing food you get here.

Flame Tree Barbecue

You can pick up their Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork Sampler for $18.99, St. Louis Rib Dinner for $16.29, Ribs and Chicken Combo for $15.49. Add a Mandarin Orange Vodka Lemonade for $11 and you’ve got a Disney Dining Plan value of up to $29.99!

Ribs, Chicken, and Pulled Pork Sampler. That’s a LOT of food!

This location also has ample covered seating scattered behind it, so you can likely grab a good spot to chow down. This barbecue is REAL good and a REAL good value. Start workin’ out those arms now so you can handle the massive heft of carrying your tray LOADED with smoked meats and sides to your table!

Sunshine Seasons at Epcot

When we have a wide array of dietary preferences to satisfy (or just a hearty appetite!) very few Disney World quick-service spots rise to meet the challenge quite like Sunshine Seasons in Epcot! The restaurant, located downstairs in The Land Pavilion, is set up kind of like a cafeteria with an Asian Noodles Shop, Grill Shop, Sandwiches, and Soups and Salads window. They also have a great dessert counter loaded with unique cupcakes and treats!

Sunshine Seasons in The Land Pavilion

Some of it’s highest dollar dishes include its Pork Loin for $13.99, Oak-grilled Rotisserie Chicken for $12.99 or its Oak-grilled Salmon for $12.99. You’ll also find a variety of beers, wines and a few mixed drinks ranging from $6.50 to $11.25 to choose from meaning you can make your Disney Dining plan credit worth around $25.24! That’s not quite as BIG of a savings as some of the other spots on our list, but for the selection and quality of eats, Sunshine Seasons is definitely a place we highly recommend!

Sunshine Seasons

We think everyone in your group will find something they enjoy here — with the wide variety, it’s hard not to! So next time you’re rushing to ride Soarin’ or showing Living with the Land some love, stop by for a meal!
