What’s New in Epcot — a Birthday Cake Muffin, 2020 Merch, and a TON of Construction!
We’re zipping over to Epcot today, wanna come??
Epcot is a pretty sweet place to be for holiday festivities right now! With the 2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays in full swing, there’s a lot to see and even more to eat; we love checking out the Holiday Kitchens and Storytellers that are spreading holiday cheer around the World Showcase right now. Still, Epcot is undergoing a transformation, so even outside of the festival, there are tons of updates in food, construction, and merchandise. Let’s check them out!
Epcot Food Updates
World Showcase
Let’s start off with our fave part — the food!!! We popped into Kringla Bakeri og Kafe and noticed that the Olaf Topper is gone from the Fall Cheesecake. Don’t be fooled by those colors, though! This guy is still lemon-flavored.

Over in Germany, we noticed that the bottled cider was missing at the Germany Bier Cart. Instead, there’s a seasonal beer in its place. As of yesterday, they still didn’t have a seasonal beer available, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for that!
The winter season is a great time to try out Germany’s warm spiced wine at Weinkeller. It’s called Glühwein and it’s traditionally served at Christmas markets — perfect for the season!
Pizza al Taglio has closed again in the Italy Pavilion. But worry not, we’ll be chowing down on pizza by the slice again on December 20th.
There’s good news out of Japan, though! The Outdoor Sake Bar has a new cocktail called Ringo Punch complete with Plum Wine, Sake, Peach Schnapps, and Apple and Pear Syrups.
You also might have seen a familiar dish appear at the Canada Popcorn Cart, now in addition to regular and maple popcorn, you can also get Caramel Apple Popcorn! This stuff was available during Epcot Food and Wine this year and must have been such a hit that they decided to add it to the menu for a bit.

Multiple Locations
We also spotted this tasty Birthday Cake Muffin at Joffrey’s locations in Epcot, and it sure does have us in the mood to celebrate!

Wine-lovers, rejoice! The World Showcase Wine Walk has returned! They weren’t selling new Wine Walks at all during Epcot Food and Wine, so it’s pretty exciting to see this experience is back again. It really is a great way to taste wine from around the world.
Also good news for wine-drinkers: You can still get your bubbly on with the Champagne Flight at Aux Vins de France in the France Pavilion.
Epcot Construction Updates
Future World
Now, let’s talk about construction. Get comfy because we’re seeing a LOT of changes at Epcot right now. First up, the Food and Wine Dance Party stage is gone and there’s some new (and possibly temporary) foliage in its place.
Of course, we can’t do an Epcot What’s New without peeking at the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster progress. The building is more obstructed now but it looks like there are some new coverings on the outside. Any progress is good progress!

There were also more walls and foliage up outside of The Seas with Nemo and Friends on the way to Coral Reef Restaurant. We’re not too sure what these guys are hiding!
The Donut Box from Food and Wine is also officially cleared away.
Checkin’ in on Cool Wash: All of the signage is still up but the location remains closed.
There’s also some construction inside Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival to prep for a new character meet and greet area.
World Showcase
The Joyful Celebration Stage is up for the holidays! You can catch the Joyful: A Celebration of the Season throughout the day for some rockin’ Christmas tunes.
Epcot Merchandise Updates
