We’re LIVE from the Rise of the Resistance Dedication Ceremony!
Rising Moons, friends! The day we’ve been waiting for is ALMOST HERE!
TOMORROW (December 5th) guests coming from galaxies far, far away (or, just next door) will be able to experience the newest ride in Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Rise of the Resistance!
Today, we had the opportunity to RIDE Rise of the Resistance and now, we got to check out the official dedication ceremony of the new ride at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Hollywood Studios!
The ceremony, which took place at 7PM Eastern, was led by Bob Chapek and a few familiar Star Wars faces! Chapek shared a few words about the creation of this incredibly innovative ride, and thanked Disney Imagineers for their hard work in bringing the state-of-the-art ride to life!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is the second attraction in Galaxy’s Edge, joining Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, which gives riders the opportunity to ride the “fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy”. And now that the major headliner will FINALLY be opening tomorrow, Disney World’s Galaxy’s Edge will be complete!
To commemorate this special occasion, we saw an X-Wing Droid take to the skies! The “ship” rose and hovered in the sky for a bit before turning and lowering back down.
Be sure to follow along tomorrow as we will be reporting LIVE from the park giving you updates on wait times, crowds, and more at the newest addition to Batuu!
We cannot believe the moment has finally arrived! Now it’s time to look forward to the ride’s opening on the West Coast, when Rise of the Resistance lands in Disneyland on January 17th, 2020!
