News! Disneyland’s 2019 Candlelight Processional Narrator Revealed!
While Epcot’s Candlelight Processional is a season-wide event, Disneyland has its own special version of the tradition.
Each year, hundreds of members of the local community, alongside the Disneyland Cast Member Choir, the Disneyland Orchestra and more celebrate the meaning of Christmas is a grand (and quite limited time!) display. And now, we’vel earned who the special celebrity narrator for 2019 is!
Disneyland’s Candlelight Processional takes place over only 2 nights, December 7th and 8th, with 2 showings each night at 5:30 and 7:45PM. The event takes place in front of the Disneyland Main Street Train Station and features an A-list celebrity narrator (Disneyland is near Hollywood, after all!).
Walt Disney started the tradition back in 1958 to join the community together in the spirit of Christmas and it has grown to be quite the production! If you’re familiar with Epcot’s Candlelight Processional it’s like that but supercharged!
Last year’s narrator was none other than Starlord himself, Chris Pratt. Not to be outdone, this year’s narrator was finally revealed with the first performance tonight to be Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Miranda wrote the songs for the hit Disney animated film, Moana, as well as starred in last year’s Mary Poppins Returns as Jack the Lamplighter, aside from his numerous accoladed for the hit Broadway musical Hamilton.
If you’re in the Disneyland area and want a peek at this truly unique event, be sure to get out there early tomorrow to snag a spot!
