4 Recent Disney World Changes People Actually LIKED!

This year Disney World has been going through some serious “ch-ch-ch-changes”!

Magic Kingdom

As with every change, there have been some good, bad, and in between, and Disney fans will ALWAYS let you know what’s what! Today we’re looking at some of the recent changes in the DW that Disney Worlders have actually really LIKED!

Water Bottle Refill Stations

We don’t think we’re breaking any news here when we say Florida is HOT! To stay hydrated in the parks, it is all too easy to go a little crazy buying water bottles (which becomes expensive REAL fast). But now, Disney World has made it MUCH easier to bring a water bottle to the park that you can refill, providing multiple water bottle refill stations around the parks!

Refillable Water Bottle Station

Refillable bottle stations are designed to send a single stream of filtered water into your water bottle or cup without touching the bottle, making them the perfect way to fill up any container you bring into the parks with you. While currently there are only a handful of refillable bottle stations around the parks, we have seen them popping up in newer sections such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which gives us some hope that we will see more of this eco-friendly water option in the future!

Discounted Upgraded MagicBands for Resort Guests

For Disney World Resort guests and Annual Passholders, this year brought with it the opportunity for a big MagicBand upgrade!

MagicBands for Resort Guests

While Disney Resort hotel guests and new and renewing Annual Passholders originally were only offered a small selection of solid colors for their complimentary MagicBand, they are now presented with the option to upgrade to a varying selection of printed MagicBands featuring characters, films, rides, and more! The pre-arrival purchase price is typically more than half off the retail price you would find in the parks, with prices varying by design and some limited edition designs cycling through periodically. This was one seriously welcome change, and has really helped to UP our MagicBand style game!

Removal of Leave a Legacy Monoliths

It would be easier to list what’s NOT changing at Epcot in the coming years versus what IS changing! While there’s a wide spectrum of reactions to each of the changes coming, one change that has been widely welcomed has been the removal of the Leave a Legacy monoliths at the entrance of Epcot to make way for a new entrance!

Refillable Mug Upgrade

While we wouldn’t blame you for filing this one under “too soon to tell”, we’re pretty excited to see the reaction to the new refillable mug upgrade being offered at Disney World!

Skyliner Refillable Mug

Instead of the typical plastic mug, Disney is offering a new refillable mug with a totally NEW design and material! The new Disney Skyliner Refillable Mug is sleek and made of insulated stainless steel! If that weren’t enough, the mug is also part of Disney World’s Refillable Mug Program, which is HUGE! For $10 bucks, guests with the Disney Dining Plan can choose to upgrade to these mugs rather than the standard plastic ones included in their plans. It is worth noting that the Skyliner Refillable Mug, at $29.99, does cost $10 more than the standard Plastic Refillable Mug, but know there are some who will see the change in material as worth the price bump!

All in all, Disney World has been making some AWESOME changes lately, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Most Magical Place on Earth!
