What’s New Around the Monorail Loop — Disney World’s Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts!

Hello there, friends! Welcome to another roundup of What’s New around the Disney World Resorts!

Polynesian Village Resort Lobby

Today, we’re going to chat about everything new we found during our latest walk around Disney’s Polynesian Village, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary Resorts.

Let’s dive in!

Polynesian Village Resort Food Update

Kona Island

We started our resorts walk at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, where we noticed that Kona Island is now selling prepacked boxes of chocolate-covered bacon. Each box contains three pieces for $12, which is the same price if you just bought three pieces separately.

We’ve previously tried this Kona Island’s chocolate-covered bacon and you can check out our review here!

Also new to us is Kona Island’s Coconut Pearl Tapioca. A Cast Member mentioned it arrived within the past couple of months.

You can try it for $5 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

Boutiki

In Boutiki, we found several merchandise items we didn’t recognize. First up, we found a Wonderland Gallery mug and notebook inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room!

Wouldn’t it be nice to be hanging out in the Tiki Room with a yummy Dole Whip or Citrus Swirl?

Also new to us in Boutiki is a Stitch merchandise collection, though the manager told us it isn’t as new as the Polynesian Village Resort collection. Some of these items are from Wonderland Gallery, so you may be able to find them in other shops around Disney World property.

We spotted an adorable Stitch tumbler with a straw ($19.99)…

Grand Floridian Resort Food Update

Making our way to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, we found a few menu changes we want to tell you guys about.

Citricos

We were super bummed to see that truffle fries are no longer listed on the Citricos menu. 🙁 Hopefully, they’ll bring these back, because we can never have enough truffle fries, right?

Gasparilla Island Grill

When we stopped by Gasparilla Island Grill, we noticed two new additions in the bakery case.

On Narcoossee’s menu, Alaskan Salmon has been replaced with Scottish Salmon. The salmon is prepared exactly the same way but is found in different water.

Grand Floridian Resort Construction Update

Outside the Grand Floridian, we noticed a continuation of the intriguing construction work we told you about a while back. We don’t know what this construction is for, but we’re hoping it might POSSIBLY be for a potential walkway between the resort and the Magic Kingdom.

Grand Floridian Resort Merchandise Update

M. Mouse Mercantile

Though this merch isn’t new, we spotted a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge display in M. Mouse Mercantile. At this point, you can likely find this merchandise in every Disney World resort!

In Basin White, we found the super cute fall soaps we previously spotted in Disney Springs.

Contemporary Resort Food Update

California Grill

In Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we noticed a variety of changes to the California Grill menu. The Medusa Roll and Herb Pancetta are no longer on the menu, and the Heirloom Tomato Salad has been replaced with the Heirloom Tomato and Burrata Salad.

California Grill Menu

Removed from the selection of entrees are the Sea Bass, Ahi Tuna, Surf and Turf, Strip Steak, and Rump Tagliatelle. Black Grouper, Lobster and Scallops, Snapper, Bison Loin, and Fonduta Tortelloni have all been added to the menu.

Fantasia

In Fantasia, we spotted the merchandise inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Star Wars Merchandise

We previously found a couple of these items in Disney’s All-Star Resorts, but this red hoodie is new to us ($44.99).

We haven’t seen this red Sith Trooper kid’s costume ($59.99) in Disney World before, we did recently find it in Downtown Disney. Are you wondering what a Sith Trooper is? Well, according to our research, Sith Troopers were a Stormtrooper variant that served the First Order during its war against the Resistance. Interesting, huh?
