The ULTIMATE GUIDE to Disney’s NEW and Newly Announced Restaurants!

In case you haven’t heard, there are a LOT of changes coming to both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.

Transformation of Epcot ©Disney

While many changes come in the form of new attractions (like the highly-anticipated TRON Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind), there are also a whole bunch of NEW restaurants coming soon, like Space 220 and Topolino’s Terrace, to the parks and resorts! Let’s explore all the new and soon to be new options you need to know about.

Today, we’re going to explore ALL the restaurants that have opened this year and ALL the restaurants coming soon to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. Let’s get started!

Recently Opened in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Oga’s Cantina

Let’s kick things off in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which is now open in both Disneyland and Hollywood Studios. The only location offering Advanced Dining Reservations at the moment is Oga’s Cantina.

Oga’s Cantina in Disneyland

Oga’s is famous for its out-of-this-world concoctions, like the literally lip-tingling Fuzzy Tauntaun and shimmery Bespin Fizz. You’ll also find a couple small snacks on the menu.

One important thing to note about Oga’s is that all the drinks are pre-mixed and many are definitely on the sweeter side!

Bespin Fizz

Read our full review of Oga’s Cantina here!

While both Oga’s Cantina locations (Disney World and Disneyland) are similar, we did notice a few differences when we visited the Cantina in Disney World. We most recently tried Disney World’s updated version of Batuu Bits, which you can learn more about here! And don’t forget Disney World’s crazy new charcuterie plate! You can check that out here!

Batuu Bits in Hollywood Studios

Both locations are currently accepting Advance Dining Reservations — you can make a reservation in Disneyland 14 days in advance and you can make one in Disney World 180 days in advance.

Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo

The other “headlining” dining location in Galaxy’s Edge is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

This quick-service spot serves a variety of eclectic eats, from a Mustafarian Lava Roll in the morning to a Braised Shaak Roast, Fried Endorian Tip-Yip, and Felucian Garden Spread in the afternoon and evening.

Mustafarian Lava Roll

We just shared a recipe from the upcoming Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook for the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip! Learn how to make it at home HERE!

Fired Endorian Tip-Yip

Check out our full review of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo here!

While Docking Bay 7’s food options are similar in Hollywood Studios and Disneyland, the beverage offerings are a bit different. Two beverages currently listed on Disneyland’s menu are not on the menu in Hollywood Studios — Phattro and Batuubucha Tea.

Phattro in Disneyland

Also, the Sour Sarlacc was listed on Hollywood Studios’ menu when we were there, but it is not currently listed on Disneyland’s menu. Since Disneyland’s Docking Bay 7 does not serve alcoholic beverages, you’ll only find the Gold Squadron Lager Beer and Takodana Quencher in Hollywood Studios.

Takodana Quencher

Read our review of the Takodana Quencher here!

Mobile Ordering is currently available at Disneyland’s Docking Bay 7 and was JUST added to Disney World’s Mobile Order system as well.

Ronto Roasters

Galaxy’s Edge is also home to Ronto Roasters, which offers Ronto Wraps, beverages, and a few other small food items.

Ronto Roasters

The Ronto Wrap (there are different versions for breakfast and lunch/dinner) is hands-down one of our favorite menu items in Galaxy’s Edge. We recommend you grab this for a quick breakfast or lunch on Batuu!

Read our full review of Ronto Roasters here!

Ronto Wrap in Disney World

The Ronto Roasters menus in Hollywood Studios and Disneyland are primarily the same, aside from a few beverage-related differences. In Disneyland, you’ll be able to get Meiloorun Juice, while in Hollywood Studios, you can try the alcoholic Coruscant Cooler and Trandoshan Ale.

Coruscant Cooler in Disney World

Check out our Coruscant Cooler review here!

The Milk Stand

If you’ve always wanted to try that memorable blue or green milk from the Star Wars films, you can do so at The Milk Stand!

Galaxy’s Edge Milk Stand

In both Disney World and Disneyland, you can find traditional (dairy-free!) blue and green milk, but in Disney World, you can also grab BOOZY blue and green milk coolers. (Heads up to the parents out there — traditional milk comes in circular cups, while the alcoholic coolers are served in square cups.)

Traditional Green Milk and Blue Milk

The Blue Milk Cooler features Bacardi rum. And the Green Milk Cooler adds a bit of Corazon Blanco Tequila to the standard milk.

Boozy Green and Blue Milk Coolers

Read our review of boozy green and blue milk here!

We’ve gotta be honest, we don’t love the taste of ANY of these drinks, but we do enjoy them more in a layered hack!

Milk Hack!

Even though we’d rather stop by Oga’s for a sweet drink, we don’t blame you if you want to grab one of these milks for the ‘gram photo op. 😉

Kat Saka’s Kettle

The last dining location you’ll find in Galaxy’s Edge is Kat Saka’s Kettle.

Kat Saka’s Kettle

This is a small spot that serves Outpost Popcorn Mix and offers thermal detonator Coke and water bottles. (In case you missed it, the TSA ban on these special bottles has been reversed!)

Outpost Popcorn Mix

The popcorn mix features both sweet and savory flavored popcorn. The sweet purple popcorn has a definite “fruity” quality to it that’s balanced out by the savory red chili flavor.

Recently Opened in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Oasis Canteen

Another recent addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the new Oasis Canteen kiosk.

Oasis Canteen

This spot is located near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! show, and it features a full bar as well as a selection of drinks unique to the location.

Oasis Canteen Drink Menu

In addition to assorted beers, the new location offers a trio of specialty cocktails — The Lost Jewel, Snake Alley, and Long Lost Island. These drinks are obviously VERY brightly colored and are super sugary as well. They are pretty photogenic though! 😉

Recently Opened in Epcot

Takumi-Tei

In July of this year, Epcot’s newest restaurant — Takumi-Tei — opened in the Japan Pavilion. This signature restaurant is only open in the evening and requires two table service credits if you’re on the Disney Dining Plan.

Takumi-Tei Washi Paper Room

This menu includes Appetizers, Main Courses, Sashimi, Maki Sushi, Nigiri, and Desserts. In addition to the main menu, there is also an Omakase Tasting Menu ($130 per person) and an optional beverage pairing ($75 per person). One of our favorite things we tried during our first visit was the Nikomi Wagyu.

Nikomi Wagyu (Bone Marrow) at Takumi-Tei

Everything on the menu is like a tiny work of art. We were so impressed with the care and attention to detail we saw in every step of our experience here.

Mozaiku Sushi

Takumi-Tei truly provides a tranquil atmosphere (we surely didn’t feel like we were in the middle of a crowded theme park), wonderful service, and unique cuisine. But, it’s important to note that it can be a loooooong and intricate…and expensive…experience, so plan to spend a couple of hours if you choose to dine here.

Recently Opened in Disney Springs

Sunshine Churros

Several locations opened in Disney Springs this year. Most recently, Sunshine Churros opened two carts — one in Disney Springs’ West Side and one in the Marketplace.

Sunshine Churros

The menu features seven specialty churros — traditional cinnamonwatermelonapple cinnamonFruity Pebblessalted caramelcherry limeade, and peach mango ($5.25 each), and two gourmet churros — strawberry cheesecake and Oreo ($6.25). You can also add a dip (Nutella or Dulce de Leche) to a specialty churro for $1 more.

Our personal favorites are the Peach Mango and the Cherry Limeade Churros!

Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet

Also new to Disney Springs’ West Side is a cookie dough food truck, aptly called Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet.

Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet

The menu features five signature treats as well as cups or cones of cookie dough. The cookie dough flavors are Chocolate ChipPeanut Butter & FluffCookies ‘n Cream Cold BrewCelebration, and Candy Monster. If you’re looking for a vegan flavor, you’ll want to check out the Celebration and Cookies ‘n Cream Cold Brew. Unfortunately, none of the flavors are gluten-free.

Cookie Dough and Everything Sweet Menu

Our personal favorite is the Celebration Parfait, which features layers of Celebration Cookie Dough and Celebration Mickey Cakevanilla custardstrawberriessprinkleswhipped cream, and a cherry.

Note that this location usually doesn’t open until 5pm!

Jaleo

This March, Disney Springs welcomed the fifth U.S. location of Jaleo by Chef José Andrés.

Jaleo in Disney Springs

The restaurant itself features rich and vibrant decor to coincide with the authentic Spanish cuisine, and the food is very much in line with Chef Andrés’ playful and innovative style.

Jaleo

One of our favorite things we’ve eaten there is the Croquetas de Pollo, which are traditional chicken fritters served on a plate resembling a pillow. This kind of reminds us of the pillow holding Cinderella’s slipper, and it’s meant to! Read more here about Chef Andres’ shoe theme!

Croquetas de Pollo at Jaleo

The Paella Valencia is an authentic standout as well!

Pepe

Chef José Andrés also opened Pepe, which is a counter-service location attached to Jaleo. This location in Disney Springs is the first brick-and-mortar location for Pepe, following the Pepe food truck, which has been a hit for the last several years in Washington, D.C.

Pepe

At Pepe, you’ll find sandwiches, gazpacho, salads, sangria, and more, including the absolutely delicious Pepito Ternera!

Pepito Ternera on Pan de Cristal

We highly recommend grabbing a quick bite here if you’re in a hurry while checking out everything at Disney Springs.

Check out our full review of Pepe here!

Mac and Cheese Food Truck

Rounding out our list of additions to Disney Springs is the Mac and Cheese Food Truck!

Mac & Cheese Food Truck

The menu, of course, is all about Mac and Cheese. But several variations on the beloved comfort food keep things interesting…

Mac & Cheese Food Truck Sign

We especially enjoyed the Bacon Cheeseburger Macaroni & Cheeseread our full review of it here!

Bacon Cheeseburger Mac & Cheese

The mac and cheese dishes we tried were all hearty and quite filling! Definitely grab a bowl if you’re in the mood for a mac attack!

Recently Opened at Coronado Springs Resort

Toledo — Tapas, Steak & Seafood

Gran Destino Tower opened at Disney World’s Coronado Springs Resort this summer, and with it came a few new restaurants. The resort’s headlining restaurant is called Toledo — Tapas, Steak, & Seafood. The beautiful restaurant serves a variety of Spanish-inspired dishes in an elegant setting.

Toledo

Toledo serves some unique eats, like Savory Churros, and some standout dishes like the Manhattan Filet. This restaurant may not be for everyone, though, since the meal is pretty long and the cuisine may not appeal to all diners.

Savory Churros

It’s also pretty far away from the theme parks, so if this is on your list, it will be a “destination” location.

Manhattan Filet

But if you find yourself in Gran Destino tower looking for a more upscale dining experience, it can be a wonderful way to spend a few hours of your day.

Read our full review of Toledo here!

Barcelona Lounge

Gran Destino Tower’s Barcelona Lounge is another beautiful space, and it offers breakfast in the morning and tapas and drinks in the afternoon and evening.

Barcelona Lounge

In the morning, you’ll find things like coffee, pastries, yogurt, and fresh fruit.

Nitro Cold Brew and Cold Brew Coffee

Spanish Pastries

It’s a great spot to grab a quick bite before a busy day at the parks.

Read our review of breakfast at Barcelona Lounge here!

From late morning until midnight, you can order a variety of light bites and drinks, with an emphasis on gin tonics. The Gran Gin Tonic is the signature drink of Gran Destino Tower, but for Barcelona Lounge patrons who may not love the flavor of gin, bartenders recommend the sweet Costa Del Sol with sweet-and-sour, pineapple, and fresh fruit.

Dahlia Lounge

Sitting on the top of Gran Destino Tower is the stunning Dahlia Lounge.  Inspired by the Disney short film Destino, this was, in part, storyboarded by artist Salvador Dali.

Dahlia Lounge

The extensive drink menu features a large selection of Spanish wines in addition to specialty cocktails.

Dahlia Lounge Menu

The Lounge also provides guests with views of Hollywood Studios fireworks — you might be lucky enough to spot Epcot’s fireworks to the right as well!

Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago

Another new location to Coronado Springs Resort is Three Bridges Bar & Grill at Villa del Lago. This new restaurant features over-the-water dining in an open-air setting.

Three Bridges Bar & Grill offers a variety of drinks and eats, like Sherry Cobbler, Espumoso Punch, and Warm Manchego and Oaxaca Cheese Dip.

Craftsman Bar

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has a new pool bar and it’s aptly called the Craftsman Bar. The seating area feels relaxed and laid-back, and the menu includes Appetizers, Artisanal Pizzas, Kids’ Meals, and Desserts.

During our visit, we especially enjoyed the Maine Lobster Quesadillas!

Whew!!! Now that we covered everything that’s opened recently, let’s turn our attention to everything coming soon to the Disney parks and resorts!

Regal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue

Earlier this summer, we learned that a new restaurant is coming to Epcot’s American Adventure PavilionRegal Eagle Smokehouse: Craft Drafts & Barbecue. According to Disney, this restaurant will open later this year and will replace the recently-closed Liberty Inn. It will feature BBQ and craft brews on tap.

Also slated to open later this year is Space 220, which will be helmed by The Patina Group and located near Future World’s Mission: Space attraction.

Ample Hills Creamery

If you follow Disney Food Blog, you’ve likely known all about how much we love Ample Hills Creamery, which already has a location on Disney’s BoardWalk. And now, another location is coming to Disney World, and this one will be located in Disney Springs!

Ample Hills Creamery

The new Ample Hills location will be located in Disney Springs’ West Side and will feature much of what you can already snag at the current Ample Hills location. We’re already wondering if they will create a flavor that can only be purchased at Disney Springs, like the Sally Sells Seashells BoardWalk-exclusive flavor!

Learn more about the second Ample Hills location here!

Beatrix

Also coming soon to Disney Springs is Beatrix, which will head into an open location on the area’s West Side.

©Disney

According to Disney, the location will be a “neighborhood restaurant, coffeehouse and grab-and-go market featuring healthy food options including vegetarian, gluten-free, and vegan along with fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.” The restaurant, helmed by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises, will also have a full-service bar and bakery.

City Works Eatery & Pour House

Heads up, beer fans! Another restaurant coming soon to Disney Springs is City Works Eatery & Pour House, which will be located adjacent to the new NBA Experience. When it opens, guests can expect to enjoy plenty of high-def TVs (including a 165-inch screen) showing live sporting events.

City Works Eatery & Pour House Construction

In keeping with the current seven City Works Eatery & Pour House locations, the Disney Springs location will serve 80 beers on tap (!!!!!!). These will include rare, limited supply, special tappings from local breweries as well as from spots around the globe. Wine will also be served. No matter what you choose, expect the pub grub, shareable plates, burgers, and more to pair well with your beverage!

In 2020, Disney California Adventure will welcome the first phase of its Marvel-themed land, Avengers Campus. A brand new restaurant known as PYM Test Kitchen will open as part of this new land.

PYM Test Kitchen Concept Art ©Disney

We don’t know a whole lot about this location yet, but Disney has given us a taste of what we can expect. “Just as Ant-Man and The Wasp use ‘Pym Particles’ to grow and shrink just about anything, Pym Technologies is using the latest innovations to grow and shrink food at this eatery!” Sounds interesting, doesn’t it??

Find more details about PYM Test Kitchen here!

Coming Soon to Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Enchanted Rose

Enchanted Rose ©Disney

The new lounge will feature four unique spaces inspired by the film. Disney states that the signature bar “will glow from the light of a magnificent gold chandelier that takes its inspiration from Belle’s flowing ball gown.”

Beauty and the Beast-themed Lounge Concept Art ©Disney

The menu at Enchanted Rose will be notably upscale with options like White Sturgeon caviar, artisanal cheeses, Octopus a la Plancha, and — what we’re looking forward to most — truffle fries!
