Review! INSANE Leaning Tower of Doughnuts in Disney Springs
Yesterday, we shared that a NEW Leaning Tower of Doughnuts had made its way to Vivoli il Gelato in Disney Springs!
And today, we’re back to review this INSANE treat!
The Leaning Tower of Doughnuts is made with donut holes stacked onto a straw, a scoop of gelato, whipped cream, and a glazed donut which is cut in half and stuffed with more gelato!! You also have the option of adding chocolate, caramel, or strawberry sauce on top! We went with chocolate sauce on our Tower.
While this looks pretty awesome, it sadly started to fall apart almost as soon as we got it.
And though we want to say the Leaning Tower of Doughnuts stole our hearts, it honestly didn’t. Which is a TOTAL BUMMER.
We chose a Black Vanilla Gelato, which is made with vanilla and activated charcoal, and a Cream Custard Gelato. Both gelato flavors were super delish and our favorite part of the dessert by far!!
The donuts themselves just didn’t blow us away. The donut holes were pretty bland and had a weird consistency.
It wasn’t like they were stale, they just didn’t have the best texture. This could have been thanks to the gelato on top and underneath… But to us, they were more cakey, instead of light and airy.
The bottom layer literally turned to mush once the gelato started to melt, which was pretty quick considering the Florida heat! So, we suggest eating that section first!
This crazy beast of a treat is $15, which we think was pretty high for its lackluster quality. We suggest skipping the Leaning Tower of Doughnuts and opting in for a scoop — or two — of gelato instead!
