What’s New in Epcot — Rainbow Panna Cotta, Construction Updates, and an ADORABLE Spirit Jersey!
Welcome back to another roundup of What’s New in Epcot!
We’ve got a bunch to cover today, including a colorful new treat, Food & Wine Festival booths, and LOTS of merchandise.
Let’s get started!
Epcot Food Update
Future World
Let’s kick things off at Fountain View, where we found a Rainbow Panna Cotta for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
This is a regular panna cotta with a bit of color added to make it look like a rainbow. A white chocolate Mickey rainbow adds a final bit of decoration. While we weren’t bowled over by it, if you enjoy panna cotta, you will most likely enjoy this treat.

Last week, we noticed that Future World’s Gourmet Popcorn Cart had replaced the sour cream and chive flavor with rainbow popcorn. During our most recent visit, sour cream and chive popcorn was back, but you can still find the rainbow popcorn in Epcot.
World Showcase
Speaking of rainbow popcorn, we spotted it at Canada’s popcorn cart. It still comes in a brown bag, and you can get it for $6.00 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
Since Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live! is no longer running, the themed food items have been removed from Fife & Drum Tavern’s menu. The hot dog meal we spotted a few weeks ago has been added to the location’s permanent menu.
Epcot Construction Update
Future World
We can’t see a whole lot of change from the outside of the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction, but we’re sure the construction is progressing on the inside!
This new coaster is slated to open in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021.
We didn’t see much visible change outside Future World’s space-themed restaurant, but the restaurant is supposed to open this year! We’ll keep you updated as we learn more information about this dining location.
We noticed more walls around the Cool Wash area during our most recent visit.
The car at Cool Wash was gone but the water sprayers were still functional.
In case you missed it, Cool Wash has been added to the booth lineup for this year’s Food & Wine Festival. It will be open starting October 1st and will offer create-your-own slushes!
Check out the full Cool Wash Festival menu here!
Future World’s play area is still open despite the surrounding construction, but the entrance has moved to right outside of the Mouse Gear entrance.
Construction continues to move forward along the walkway to World Showcase. We saw noticeable progress on the Food & Wine Festival booths, and they had drained the water in between the walkway and the Imagination Pavilion.
World Showcase
Speaking of Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival, new merchandise structures have been added around World Showcase. We spotted the Festival Shop booths in the Germany and Canada Pavilions.
Also in World Showcase, we saw the Cast Members training outside the Italy booth. Don’t forget that the Food & Wine Festival kicks off on August 29th!

In the Morocco Pavilion, the Gallery of Arts and History was closed during our visit. They have put a sign on the door that says, “We are dreaming up a new adventure!” We’ll keep you posted as we learn more about the changes to the gallery.
Construction is still underway in the France Pavilion, as they are in the process of creating Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and the new full-service crêperie. These experiences are slated to open by Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021 and we are SO READY.
Can you spot the Skyliner gondolas in the background??
Epcot Merchandise Update
We have a lot of merchandise to tell you about today, so get ready!
Future World
In Mouse Gear, we found some super cute ID holders with lanyards ($16.99) that we recently saw in Disney California Adventure. We spotted Stitch…
…a Toy Story alien…
…and the house from Up!
Also in Mouse Gear, we spotted an iPhone case ($29.99) featuring cats and dogs from Disney movies. Pluto, Figaro, and Marie are just a few of the animals that decorate the case!
We also found the new Betsey Johnson Minnie Ears ($58) in Mouse Gear. Sparkly pink tulle makes up the ears, alongside a sequined black and white bow.

A Mickey castle “home” pillow ($29.99) was on display in Mouse Gear along with the Mickey Kitchen Line we found recently.
If you get homesick when you leave Disney World (who doesn’t?), this may be a great souvenir!
Also in Mouse Gear, we spotted an ADORABLE Jack Skellington onesie ($19.99)! We previously spotted it in Downtown Disney and STILL can’t get over how cute it is.
We ALSO couldn’t get over the cuteness of this Chip ‘n Dale Patch when we found it in Mouse Gear for $9.99.
As you likely know, Epcot’s IllumiNations — Reflections of Earth will hold its last show on September 30th before it’s replaced by Epcot Forever. Earlier this summer, the park introduced its “Farewell IllumiNations” collection in honor of the beloved nighttime spectacular. If you’d still like to grab a piece of this merchandise, you can grab a light-up cup with a straw for $10!
We found this promotion in Mouse Gear and Disney Traders. We aren’t sure how long it’ll last, so we’d recommend taking advantage of this deal soon!
World Showcase
In Disney Traders, we were spooked (in the best way) by a set of Haunted Mansion-themed playing cards ($12.99). We haven’t seen this set before, but we’ve previously seen Madame Leota-themed cards before.
Also in Disney Traders, we saw a kid’s princess hair bow ($9.99) we hadn’t noticed before.
The shimmery rose gold bow features the names of Disney Princesses and popular icons from their movies, such as the Beast’s rose.
In Heritage Manor Gifts, our eyes were drawn to an America-themed tank top ($29.99).
The white tank is decorated with red, white, and blue icons, including Mickey Mouse, the American flag, and popcorn.
In Mitsukoshi, we saw an adorable back-to-school display! The display featured a variety of items like lunchboxes and sketchbooks, but we’re not sure if any of it is new.
In Souvenirs de France (the shop connect to Les Halles), we spotted a Paris-themed Mickey and Minnie Spirit Jersey ($64.99) we hadn’t seen before.
The front of the shirt has an adorable picture of our favorite couple and the Eiffel Tower, while the back says “Paris Je T’aime,” which means “Paris, I love you.”
Well, friends, that completes our trip around Epcot’s Future World and World Showcase — thanks for joining us! Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for even more news from the Disney parks and resorts.
