What’s New in Epcot — Dia de los Muertos Ears, Lots of Construction Updates, and Rainbow Popcorn!

Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Epcot!

Future World

We have a LOT to cover today, including tons of merchandise and new Food and Wine Festival booths!

Let’s get started.

Epcot Food Update

Future World

The Gourmet Popcorn Cart near the Imagination Pavilion has added a new flavor to its lineup — RAINBOW Popcorn. This has taken the place of the Sour Cream and Chive Popcorn for the time being, but we’re not sure how long it’ll be around.

Gourmet Popcorn Stand

We did not enjoy this popcorn as much as the other flavors, but it certainly is photogenic!

World Showcase

In the Germany Pavilion, the Bier Cart has added Possman Hard Cider to the menu for $9.50.

In the France Pavilion, Les Halles has removed the Summer Slush from the menu, but the Frosé Slush was still available during our visit.

Epcot Construction Update

Entrance

In the area around Epcot’s entrance, we noticed that the left-hand side is now under construction. The rental station is still open but you have to walk around the walls towards Spaceship Earth to get to it.

Epcot Entrance Area Construction

We aren’t sure how long this construction will last, but stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more updates!

Future World

During a recent visit to Epcot, we noticed construction walls outside Coral Reef. The walls have been extended since our last visit, but the restaurant still remains open.

The Seas Area Construction

While we were in Future World, we noticed that walls are up across from Test Track, near the play area.

Test Track Area Construction

Cool Wash, which is located near Test Track, was not open during our visit. It’s not completely unusual for it to close unexpectedly, but it has been open during several of our previous visits.

Construction continues to progress along the walkway to World Showcase.

Pathway to World Showcase Construction

We could sort of see the Hawai’i Food and Wine Festival booth beginning to take shape.

Pathway to World Showcase Construction

We are so ready for the Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster to open, though we have to wait until 2021. We still couldn’t see very much from the outside, but we’re sure the coaster is making progress inside its building!

Guardians of the Galaxy Coaster Construction

The same can be said for the space-themed restaurant, though the scaffolding has come down! The restaurant is set to open in 2019, so hopefully we’ll get some more details to share with you soon!

Also in Future World, we noticed some new construction walls outside the entrance to the old Wonders of Life Pavilion. This building used to house Wonders of Life and then the Festival Center. We’re not exactly sure what these construction walls are for, but we’ll keep you updated if we learn more!

World Showcase

Over in World Showcase, construction is still underway in the France Pavilion. We are MORE than ready for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and the full-service crêperie to open! These experiences are set to open in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021.

France Pavilion Construction

In the American Adventure Pavilion, the walls that were up around the area next to Block and Hans are now gone and it looked like all the brickwork was new. The Hops & Barley booth was up during our visit, but we’ll tell you more about that in a bit!

Epcot Food and Wine Festival Update

The Epcot Food and Wine Festival’s opening date of August 29th is quickly approaching, so we wanted to give you an update of the festival booths that have popped up since our last visit.

The Alps booth is now up in the Norway Pavilion across from the Viking Exhibit.
