What’s New in Animal Kingdom — Construction, Brownies, and an ADORABLE Cookie!

Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

It was a dreary day in the park, but that didn’t stop us from checking out all the new items, including a super cute cookie! Let’s dive into what we found.

Food Update

Multiple Locations

We spotted the new Lion Paw Cookie at just about every ice cream cart in Animal Kingdom.

We thought the pre-packaged Selma cookie was pretty good, and it’s obviously super adorable. And, it’s hard to beat the price of $3.50 when you compare it to other snacks in the parks.

Africa

At Zuri’s Sweets Shop, we noticed some new Snacks with Character options.

We found Grain & Seed Bars for $3.49…

Chocolate Protein Bites for $6.99…

…and Crunchy Cookie Bags for $2.59!

While we only saw these in Zuri’s currently, they should be available in various merchandise and candy shops soon.

Asia

The Royal Ananadapur Tea Company is a pretty great place to grab a quick dessert in Animal Kingdom. Along with the Peanut Butter Brownie we’ve seen before…

…they also had an Oreo version

… and an M&M version!

We are all about yummy brownies here at DFB!

Discovery Island

The Baked Mac and Cheese options from Eight Spoon Cafe have been moved to The Smiling Crocodile location, along with the Eight Spoon Cafe menu sign.

The actual Eight Spoon Cafe location was closed during our visit.

Construction Update

Africa

In the area between the Festival of The Lion King and the boardwalk to Pandora, we’ve noticed some construction, but we aren’t sure what the purpose is. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more about this construction work!

Merchandise Update

The Lion King Dooney and Bourke collection was still available in Riverside Depot and Mombasa Marketplace during our visit, so you still have a chance to buy one of the adorable bags.

We also spotted the Chip ‘n Dale and Donald Dino-Bash plushes in Riverside Depot. A Cast Member informed us that they were only sold in Chester and Hester’s when they initially debuted. The Chip ‘n Dale plushes are $29.99

…while the Donald plush is $21.99!
