NEWS! More Details — Including a Final Drop — Released for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Coming to Galaxy’s Edge!

We are only TWO DAYS away from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge officially opening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

While Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will not be opening with the rest of the land, we have some exciting new details to share with you!

As previously announced, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will open in Disney World on December 5th of this year, and in Disneyland on January 17th, 2020. We’ve given you some details about the beginning of the immersive new attraction, but now we’ve got a look at how the epic adventure will conclude.

INSIDE Star Wars Rise of the Resistance!

During the ride, guests will be captured by Kylo Ren and pulled aboard his ship. Droids who are in charge of navigating keep taking wrong turns, and eventually guests will have to get to the bottom of the ship to escape pods, which look quite a bit like the Millennium Falcon.

Throughout most of the ride, the vehicles are operated by r5 droids, but when we need to get on the escape pod, the trackless ride vehicle will actually pull into the escape pod. This escape pod will have a massive screen and will provide a motion-based experience similar to Star Tours.

The most EPIC part of this ride will certainly be its dramatic ending. The whole thing is positioned on a jettison which will take guests on one Tower of Terror-like drop. There will only be one drop, so if you’re a bit freaked out by that, it’ll be over quickly! Besides, when you successfully complete your adventure, you’ll be celebrated through Batuu as a hero!
