What’s New in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom! You Can Get The Turkey Legs Where, When?!?
Today we’re bringing you the latest of What’s New in Magic Kingdom!
We have a lot to cover today from new merchandise to construction updates and more, so let’s get started!
Magic Kingdom Food Update
If you still want a chance to sample some adorable Toy Story-themed treats, you may be in luck! During our visit to Magic Kingdom, we noticed that they were still available at Main Street Confectionery and Big Top Treats. We don’t know how long these will stick around, but you might be able to snag one!
Over in Adventureland, we noticed a change to Tortuga Tavern’s signage. According to their signage, Pecos Bill starts serving turkey legs at 5 PM.
In Fantasyland, we saw that Friar’s Nook has started selling the same versions of Joffrey’s cold brew coffee that Pinocchio Village Haus currently serves. We are always happy with more locations to get our caffeine fix!
We wrapped up our food tour in Tomorrowland! Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is now serving that Pork Belly Burger, which was previously available as a secret menu Mobile Order item. This one appears to be slightly different than its predecessor — it features Gouda cheese, crispy onion straws, and Sriracha aioli. Still super expensive though, so a great deal as a Disney Dining Plan counter service credit!
The previous Mobile Order version featured Gouda, Sriracha aioli, and pork rinds.
At press time, the Pork Belly Burger is NOT listed on Cosmic Ray’s Mobile Order menu, so you’ll need to order the burger with a Cast Member if you’d like to try it!
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
We have several construction updates to tell you about today!
The Magic Kingdom entrance area seen from the Monorail station is still undergoing construction. We aren’t entirely sure what this construction is for, but we’ll be sure to let you know when we find out!
There is also a new area of construction close to the entrance. We spotted it near the area where bag checks used to be. We’ll keep you updated with more information on this construction!
While we were in Fantasyland, we spotted a small area of construction outside Pinocchio Village Haus. The area is closed off with construction walls, but the restrooms in the area are still open, thankfully! We assume this is just for a small maintenance project, but we’ll let you know if we hear of anything more exciting!
Also in Fantasyland, the Cinderella Castle walkway construction continues. It sure will be nice for guests to have more room to spread out when the project is completed!
In Tomorrowland, we HAD to take stock of the Tron Coaster’s construction progress! It is so exciting to see the thrill ride’s track take shape. The highly-anticipated coaster will open in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations in 2021 and we can hardly wait!
Sticking around in Tomorrowland, Astro Orbiter was still down when we were there. After a bit of sleuthing, it appears that the ride may be closed through August 14th.
According to Disney World’s website, no times are listed from Thursday, July 18th through Wednesday, August 14th. On Thursday, August 15th, times are listed to ride the attraction again. This is subject to change at any time, so keep checking Disney World’s website for more information.
Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
It’s time to talk about NEW MERCH!!
Kicking our merch search off at Main Street Bakery, we spotted Magic Kingdom versions of the mug ornaments we found in Hollywood Studios. These feature some of our favorite Magic Kingdom icons, like Cinderella Castle, Splash Mountain, and Tinkerbell!
How adorable is Dumbo??
You can grab a mug ornament featuring the Most Magical Place on Earth for $14,99.
We’ve spotted these super cute and nostalgic The Little Mermaid VHS wallets in a few places around Disney property, and we couldn’t resist snapping a quick photo! You can purchase one at The Emporium for $19.99.
Also in The Emporium, we saw these rose gold Squad Goals bracelets. We love the adorable Minnie bows on each one! We think this set of three bracelets would be awesome to share among three friends! You can grab the set of bracelets for $14.99.
We also noticed MORE rose gold bracelets at The Emporium for $19.99. These bracelets feature an alternating pattern of Minnie bows and Mickeys, and they’re silicon/plastic so they’re perfect for the kiddos.
While we were still in The Emporium, we found some Disney Tails squeak toys! One set of toys features Disney park icons while the other set is Star Wars-themed! You can grab these squeak toys for $17.99.
Next up, we headed to Storybook Circus where we found a Disneyland puzzle set ($21.99) in Big Top Treats! The set includes three 500-piece puzzles, depicting Submarine Voyage, the Disneyland Monorail System, and Matterhorn Bobsleds. In case you missed it, we attended a 60th-anniversary event for these iconic attractions!
Lastly, in Mickey’s Star Traders, we found a super cool Walt Disney World Opening Days shirt! The shirt includes opening dates for many attractions, including Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and PANDORA — The World of Avatar. The shirt does not feature the new Toy Story Land attractions, but it’s still pretty cool.
You can pick up one of these shirts for $19.99.
