What’s New at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: RIP Biscuits, Living Our Best Disney Snack Life, and the Gondolas Have Returned!
We’re back with another What’s New, and this time we’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios! This Park is poised for a new era as we edge closer, day by day, to the August 29 opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. But in the meantime, we’re bringing you updates to menus, merchandise, and construction!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Food Updates
Last week we let you know that the Exotic Margarita at BaseLine Tap House was back. But now it’s gone again, and the saga of the Exotic Margarita continues! The last absence was due to a dearth of yuzu, so we’re thinking this is more of the same. Quit playing games with our hearts, yuzu!
Over at Backlot Express we noticed a handful of menu changes. The Chicken Ranch Club Sandwich has replaced the California Chicken Club Sandwich; and Chicken Breast Strips are now listed as Chicken Tenders.
In other news, the Chicken Breast Strips with Biscuits have been removed, and there are no longer Biscuits as a side, either. And a cast member speculated that the Caprese Sandwich would be going soon, too, because it was not included on the printed menus. But on our visit, it could still be ordered.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Construction Updates
On our last visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the gondolas were absent from the Skyliner station, but on this day, they were back! We only spotted a few out on the lines, but there were several inside the station.
It was great to see them back on the lines, and we’re excited to hear when they might start ferrying guests from place to place!
The station itself is looking great, with chrome details and Art Deco gradations of color on the pillars.
We’re not seeing much work on the Chinese Theater where Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway will open next spring, but on this visit, we did spy a construction worker on the roof.
Now you see him, now you don’t, though, and it’s unclear what was going on up there, anyway. But we’ll keep checking!
And as a reminder, the March of the First Order ended on July 6, so you’ll likely have to wait until Galaxy’s Edge opens to see these folks walking around again.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios Merchandise
Minnie’s cementing her status as an icon with her latest line of merchandise. We spotted two pieces — a tee and a tote — in Once Upon a Time.
We actually love the simplicity of the design — and the fact that it’s absolutely true.
The funky leggings we’ve seen elsewhere in the World are also at Hollywood Studios. This display at Once Upon a Time includes leggings and coordinating tee shirts.
You know this shirt holds special meaning for the DFB!
The coordinating leggings are making us hungry. And also making us want to do yoga. It’s a slightly confusing combination of feelings, really.
Once Upon a Time also had a new-to-us selection of retro trucker caps. We’ll take one of each, please! You can also spot these at Disney Springs!
And for the days we’re not wearing our Disney World hats, we’ll wear these ears from Alex & Ani. They’re on display and available (for $178.00) here. Click here for more details about these designer ears!
That’s it from Hollywood, y’all! We’ll be bringing you more What’s New from the Parks of Walt Disney World and Disneyland soon, so keep your channel tuned to DFB!
