What’s New at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! Scavenger Hunts, Frozen Drinks, and Lion Tails!

Welcome, adventurers! We’re back with another What’s New at Animal Kingdom.

Tree of Life

We have a lot to show you — including colorful frozen drinks, more unique windbreakers, animation experiences, and more — so let’s get started!

Food Update at Animal Kingdom

DISCOVERY ISLAND

One of our favorite ways to start our day in the park is with a sweet treat. At Creature Comforts, they’re still serving up the adorable Elephant Cupcake we previously reviewed! It’s also over at Restaurantosaurus as well, so head on over there if the Starbucks line gets a little crazy at Creature Comforts.

Isle of Java is the ultimate destination for all your sipping needs. We spotted on the menu that Cold Brew Joffrey’s has replaced the quick-stop’s Iced Coffee (we’re not complaining!). The Macaw Specialty Beverage, Parrotfish, and Party Parrot frozen drinks are available for a refreshing cool-down in the summer heat.

Parents, head’s up! If the kids are looking for a slush, the Macaw Specialty is the only non-alcoholic slush at Isle of Java. Want to have a frozen beverage as well? We recommend the flavorful Party Parrot to satisfy your tastebuds.

If you’re looking for a different kind of drink, Pizzafari is now offering the Copa Single Serve Chalice Wines in Moscato, Merlot or Pinot Grigio for $9.

AFRICA

Continuing with delightful alcoholic beverages in the park, we’ve seen the Magical Star Cocktail at other locations in Disney World. Now, the Dawa Bar has it available for $14.65! (The glow cube is a reason enough to try this drink.)

Although it’s not new, we sipped on the King’s Cooler from Tamu Tamu on this visit. The rum-infused pineapple Dole Whip mixed strawberry, watermelon, and coconut syrup was a great choice of a snack over eating some grubs with Timon and Pumbaa!

ASIA

You guys know how much we love peanut butter and chocolate. Seriously, it’s the combo of DREAMS, friends!! That INCREDIBLE Peanut Butter Brownie we discovered in Epcot is now over at the Royal Anandapur Tea Company.

Um, could this day at Animal Kingdom get any better?!

Merchandise Update in Animal Kingdom

To answer our question: YES!! There is sooo much merch in the park right now, so let’s get shopping!

AFRICA

After you ride Kilimanjaro Safaris, stay in Africa because all the new merch is located there!

The Mombasa Marketplace has joined the Circle of Life in Riverside Depot with their The Lion King merchandise. If your little ones “Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” they can put on this The Lion King Tail for $24.99 and sing “Hakuna Matata” for the rest of their days!

Young Simba is one of the most adorable parts of the new The Lion King film. Take him home with you as a pet with the Mighty Roar Simba Toy! He responds with over 100 sound and motion combinations, including eating grubs and saying phrases from the film for $99.99. Show Simba how much you love him, because he answers to touch and sound (which is extremely cool)!

The limited edition The Lion King Magic Band has made its way into the Mombasa Marketplace for $34.99. Are you Team Simba or Team Scar?

You can also grab a The Lion King Scavenger Hunt map for $6.99 at this location, on top of others. Who here has completed it and received the commemorative magnet at the end? (We want to collect them all!!)

At the Mahindi Popcorn and Snack Stand, you can grab a The Lion King Souvenir Canteen! A Cast Member informed us that they are $10.34 and come with a cup of water. Add this to your pack of supplies as you trek across the park!

Creature Comforts has an Animal Kingdom Mug Ornament on their shelves for $14.99.

The collectible ceramic ornament features everything special about Animal Kingdom, including animals (our favorite is the dinosaur), rides, and shows.

It’s tiny, but mighty!!

Over at Chester and Hester’s, the Mickey Bar Hat looks like a delicious addition to your wardrobe! You can wear the bedazzled hat for $27.99.

Throughout Africa and at the park entrance, you can pick up the free The Lion King Activity Packet to participate in the events going on around Animal Kingdom.

Learn about animals in the safari, and learn a little bit about yourself as you work together with your friends and family!

Learn About Science, Animals, and More!

Disney knows the importance of protecting our environments and the creatures that inhabit them. You can receive the Disney Conservation Fund Button park-wide after you donate to the charity.

Entertainment and Other Updates at Animal Kingdom

There are now Guest Experience Team stations throughout Animal Kingdom to assist guests with any questions they have! We spotted them in Discovery Island near Pizzafari, Africa near Harambe Market, and Asia near Expedition Everest.

Guest Experience Team Station

You can pick up an Event Pamphlet at these stations, complete with all the merchandise, food, activities, and more happening at the park.

Yeah, we see you trying to find exactly where The Lion King themed treats are…

There is also a Times and Animal Guide for each section of the park, including Kilimanjaro Safaris and Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail.

Times and Animal Guide

This is extremely helpful if you’re searching the savanna for a specific animal!

At the Conservation Station, we were shown how to draw Simba during the Animation Experience. The last time we were here, we learned how to draw Timon!

Now, we just need to find out how to create Pumbaa, and we’ve completed our favorite The Lion King trio!

As we were leaving the park, our BFF Kevin greeted us with a squawk and head nod. Parting is such sweet sorrow…

We love Kevin!!

That’s all for this segment of What’s New at Animal Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time with more food, merch, and entertainment updates.

We’re going to go play with our Mighty Roar Simba now, byeeee!!
