What’s New at Disney World’s Port Orleans and Old Key West Resorts — Construction Updates, Princess and the Frog Merch, and MORE!
Welcome back, friends! We’re here with another round-up of What’s New at Port Orleans and Old Key West Resorts.
We’ve got some adorable merchandise, construction updates, and interesting activities to tell you about, so let’s get started!
Port Orleans Resort Food Update
Let’s kick things off at Port Orleans Resort, Riverside’s own Riverside Mill!
In Riverside Mill Food Court, we spotted some Lil’ Rascal Pino Noir single-serving canned wines! It was the first time we spotted these wines on Disney World property! Guests over the age of 21 can enjoy one for $11 or as the beverage selection with a Disney Dining Plan counter service credit.
We love seeing the gorgeous bakery cases full of sweets and goodies at Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory and Riverside Mill Food Court! Did you know that Riverside Mill is one of only a few spots where you can always get a Magic (i.e. Seven Layer) Bar?
We’re hungry just looking at that Mickey Beignet from Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter.
While we didn’t spot anything new in the bakery cases, a friendly Cast Member informed us that they expect to have a The Lion King-themed cupcake dropping in soon.
We’ll be keeping an eye out and will keep you posted!
Port Orleans Resort Merchandise Update
Like we were saying before, beignets really make us build up an appetite. The Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix from Jackson Square Gifts & Desires would be a wonderful gift to take home to a loved one (or to yourself — no judgment here!). You can grab their coffee as well for a breakfast that will make you party more than Mardi Gras!
Recently, the Cafe du Monde items have been out of stock at Port Orleans — French Quarter. But now they’re back, baby! We’re pretty sure a lot of people feel the same way we do about beignets.
Also at Jackson Square Gifts & Desires, we spotted a lot of merchandise featuring the old Port Orleans logo. Ah, the memories!
You can pick up a shirt, magnet, or ornament if you want to play up the nostalgia.
Or, you can grab a shot glass for some of that Lil’ Rascal wine! ;-D
On the other hand, Fulton’s General Store at the Port Orleans Resort — Riverside has the new logo merchandise, featuring The Princess and the Frog characters.
There are some adorable shirts with Tiana and Louis…
…a Tiana Pin…
And a tumbler cup with Ray!
Need some help looking for Evangeline?
We also found a stained glass magnet and keychain with the new logo.
You can have something old and something new with another Port Orleans Shot Glass! Cheers!
The Icon Minnie merch has been found around the parks and has been spotted at Fulton’s as well. The Icon Minnie Luggage Tag is the cutest addition to your Disney travel accessories. (Can we have one for each of our suitcases??)
The Forky Toy recall sign is visible in the Port Orleans store. We have to say that we miss the little guy!!
This was the first time we saw each of these merchandise items at Port Orleans Resort!
Port Orleans Entertainment Update
Over at the Port Orleans French Quarter, the Painting on de Bayou for the month of July is The Lion King-themed. It’s offered on Wednesdays from 6-8 PM.
Though we don’t think it’s new, we spotted an advertisement Dockside Drawing at the Muddy Rivers Pool Bar!
After an hour of creating your masterpiece, you can stretch out all your tense muscles with Poolside Yoga.
Well, that ends our tour of Port Orleans Resort — let’s head to Old Key West!
What’s New at Old Key West Resort
Old Key West Resort Construction Update
‘Tis the season for construction, and Old Key West Resort is no different from other parts of Disney World!
The resort is having major construction happen in their main parking lot, so only a third of the lot is available for parking.
Maybe you can ride the new Sensational Six buses instead?
Old Key West Merchandise Update
The Disney Vacation Club resort really focuses on that Florida beach theme with its pastel colors and white wicker decor. Even the resort’s merchandise makes you feel like you’re about to sit in the sand, listening to the waves!
In the Conch Flats General Store, you can find lots of resort logo merch!
From short-sleeve tees…
…and long-sleeve sweatshirts…
…to colorful ornaments…
…and nautical keychains, plus more!
You can even add a couple of cute items to your kitchen with an Old Key West mug and a magnet!
Or, you can take a piece of the resort with you wherever you go with the Old Key West Luggage Tag, whether you are traveling or about to be greeted “Welcome Home!”
On top of the logo merchandise, there is a The Little Mermaid girls’ dress swimming into the store. Your little princess can twin with the “The Girl Who Has Everything” tumbler from Disney Style.
Matching mom and daughter Starbucks date, anyone?
Old Key West Entertainment Update
At the Conch Flats General Store, there is also a trivia question of the day about Monster’s Inc. We know the answer! How about you?
Can you score a hole-in-one? You can try your hand at corn hole outside near the ferry dock at Old Key West.
After enjoying a game, you can head over to The Gurgling Suitcase to grab some complimentary iced water.
Well, that’s it for now, everybody! Catch us next time with another What’s New roundup, when we update you on more construction, food, merchandise, and entertainment news!
