Recently, it feels like everywhere you look, there’s new The Lion King merch with the upcoming premiere of the live-action film next week (omg we can’t wait!!!). We’ve spotted plush toys, popcorn buckets, and ice cream. Now, there’s even a colorful dessert in Disney Springs celebrating its release!

The King of the Jungle has arrived at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs with The Lion King Petit Cake!

The vanilla and chocolate chiffon cakes are layered with amarula mousse, pineapple jam, and chocolate covered potato chips. The entire cake is covered in buttercream, then wrapped up in yellow fondant.

The large maroon flower and Simba’s face are also made of fondant, complete with dabs of icing around the dessert. The cake is finished with a burgundy ribbon (that’s not edible!) circling the bottom.

He Just Can’t Wait to Be King!

The decoration on this cake is one of the CUTEST we have seen in Disney recently. Simba’s grin is actually contagious!!

Back of the Cake

The chiffon cakes on this one were super moist and delicious. They basically melted in your mouth as you took a bite. The pineapple jam and amarula mousse inside were our favorite parts of this cake, though! The flavors balanced each other perfectly without an overwhelming taste of fruit or chocolate.

Inside of the Cake

We had only hoped to get a salty crunch with the chocolate covered potato chips to offset the soft cake, but they basically tasted like soggy chocolate pieces. Honestly, if they had been left out, we think the cake would have made an absolute ROAR!

For a sweet surprise, The Lion King Petit Cake is available for $16.

Maybe you can grab one before heading over to Animal Kingdom Lodge for more tasty treats?
