Spooky season is upon us, my friends!! (I know —  you’re all “But wait; it’s JULY and Halloween is in OCTOBER!” and we’re all “I KNOW, but DISNEY!” And it’s true — Disney starts the Halloween season in early August every year!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

For starters, we mentioned that a NEW fireworks show would be making its way to the Kingdom this Halloween season. Now, we’re excited to share that a few new details on the show have been released.

The new show, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular, will be hosted by Jack Skellington himself! According to Disney, he has come to share a “not-so-scary story about how anything can happen on Halloween night. Zero, Jack’s ghostly pup, will then fly off and carry everyone along on a trick-or-treating adventure.” (You know what that means, right? Zero will probably be on that zipline!)

The adventure will follow Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy as they find themselves inside a mysterious haunted house. Throughout the house, they will encounter dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts, and Disney villains! Sounds super cute!

Also, for the first time this year, the Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor pals will interact with party guests in new ways as they learn about the Human World holiday known as Halloween. Does that mean I get to trick or treat with SULLEY YES PLEASE!!!!!

Other cool overlays and experiences at the party this year: the live pirates will be returning to Pirates of the Caribbean! And Space Mountain will be pitch black again this year. While you twist and turn through the darkness you’ll get to jam out to a new “rockin’ soundtrack” on Space Mountain’s super tinny speakers (I hope they change the sound system someday). And be prepared to spin into madness on Mad Tea Party as special lighting and music will be back again this year.

Watch as the three Sanderson sisters put a spell on you again in their Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular. The Headless Horseman and Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade will return to Main Street U.S.A. this year as well!

And for your little ones! Fancy Nancy, Vampirina, and Doc McStuffins will be dancing the night away at the Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam!

Also, be sure to be on the lookout as this year’s Halloween treats, merch, photo opportunities, and character interactions should be introduced soon! We’re keeping our fingers crossed that the Poison Apple Cupcake (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I ate, like, four of these in two days last year) and Maleficent Cone come back!
