What’s New in Disneyland Resort: Fresh Eats, Construction Deets, and New Looks from Bo Peep!
We’re back in Disneyland Resort today where there’s been a lot of action in the world of Disney Parks snacks! We’ve also spotted plenty of new, fun merchandise and looked behind the fencing to see what’s up with construction projects around the Resort. Come see What’s New!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Food and Menus
There’s a new food truck in Downtown Disney, and you’re going to want to find it. (It’s near Pop-Up Disney!) It’s The Empanada Maker!
We’re hungry just thinking about those hand-held pockets of deliciousness… (We had empanadas recently at Disney World — see our most recent review of Sebastian’s Bistro here!)
Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar are offering Souvenir Dole Whip Mugs! We gave you a closer look here!
In Disneyland Park, the churro cart near Hungry Bear has received a makeover!
We love the bright colors and cute design.
We’d also like to answer this helpful friend’s question: Yes, we’re always peckish, thank you.
And we recently reviewed the Carnival Funnel Cake at Stage Door Cafe. It’s sweet and colorful.
And to celebrate the opening of Toy Story 4, Golden Horseshoe has two Roundup-inspired eats: the Loop-de-Loop Sundae and the Bonnie’s Boot Float! (Click those clever names for our reviews!)
At the churro cart near Haunted Mansion, the ooey-gooey S’mores Churro is back and haunting our dreams again… in a good way!
At Troubador Tavern in Fantasyland, guests can order up the BBQ Chicken Baked Potato. We LOVE a baked potato option, and this one is super hearty and filling!
Back on Main Street, U.S.A., Jolly Holiday Bakery has two bright Imagination Pink treats! (You know Imagination Pink, the latest color trend to hit the parks?) We reviewed the Imagination Pink Cupcake and the Imagination Pink Macaron here!
Over in Disney California Adventure Park, pick up your Power Stone Churro in Hollywood Land. (Then click here to read our review!)
Award Wieners has some funky new Lava Fries that use their awesome Filmstrip Fries as the base! We’re in for these! Read our review here!
We also spotted these fun Toy Story cake pops in confectioneries in DCA!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Construction
The Pixar Pals Parking Structure is just about ready to welcome the hordes for Galaxy’s Edge (see details here!), and it looks like exterior design elements are taking shape!
In fact, even though guests cannot yet currently park here, there are some aspects of the structure which are currently operational! Read more about it here!
The Grand Californian Hotel installed a lovely new gate. Yeah, we know: a lovely gate? But bear with us.
The metal gate has an outdoorsy feel with butterflies, grasshoppers, lady bugs, and botanical elements. This is, of course, in keeping with the Resort’s craftsman style, which seeks to harmonize with nature.
In Disney California Adventure Park, new Toy Story displays are up near the Toy Story Midway Mania ride. Lookin’ good, gang!
We also rode the Pixar Pal-A-Round to get a bird’s eye view of Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind. Looks like progress is steady toward the ride’s opening this month (which means it’s just a few days away now)!!
We even spotted cast members working the console, while its usual operators are hanging out elsewhere in the attraction!
Stroller parking is also delineated here.
While on the Pal-A-Round, we took a gander at Marvel’s superhero-themed land in the distance. Not much to report, but we’ll keep looking!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Merchandise
This may shock you, but there’s lots of new stuff to buy at Disneyland Resort. We’ll start in Downtown Disney, where Wonder Ground Gallery is selling this fun DJ R3X Funko.
You’ll also find this practical and cute snack and Park icon backpack at the Gallery.
The Dress Shop has Dooney & Bourke Toy Story bags.
In Disneyland Park, you WON’T be finding merchandise in Main Street Cinema anymore. We posted about this last week, when the Park bowed to guest outrage that merchandise was being sold in the iconic location.
Disneyland officials said the move was designed to attract more guests to the attraction, and, well, it worked… just maybe not for the reason they intended. (Or was it….?)
Disney Clothiers has a load of new backpacks! These feature Mickey, Minnie, Haunted Mansion wallpaper (it’s a thing!), and more! We’re partial to the Disney Snacks Backpack, of course. Click here to read more about them!
At Disneyana, celebrate 60 years of the Disneyland Monorail (and more transportation adventures!) with some themed merchandise!
In Disney California Adventure Park, guests can bring Toy Story friends home in balloon form now! Are you a Bo Peep and Forky or a Woody and Buzz?
Elias & Co. has a ton of cool merchandise! You can get your attractions- and character-themed headbands here! (See our post!)
Three Dooney & Bourke designs also grace the shelves! We love the Tinker Bell design!
Bo Peep lewks are available here, including this jumpsuit/skirt combo…
…and a fluffy sheep purse to go with it. (Sure looks easier than herding sheep, doesn’t it?)
And naturally, there’s a headband for that. The bow is off to the side on this one.
But if you’re trying to avoid the… shepherdess look, there’s a retro Toy Story dress available, too! Lots of pretty details on this one.
You’ll find another Bo Peep-inspired hat at Knick Knacks.
There’s a great little The Lion King stand near Ariel’s Undersea Adventure selling Special Edition Nala and Simba Plush. (Part of your purchase goes toward a good cause, which you can read more about here.)
Fans of the films can also pick up a soft headband with lion ears. Yea or nay on this one?
Finally, AP Corner has a bunch of exclusive stuff, including the Ocarina (wind flute) mug we shared with you here, an AP magnet, a pin, and some sheet music to go along with your new mug, if you purchase one!
