What’s New at Disneyland Resort: Star Wars Merch, a Fresh Take on the Mint Julep, and Cali Returns!
We’re back at Disneyland Resort, where Galaxy’s Edge has celebrated over a week of welcoming visitors to the planet Batuu. But we’re hanging out in other areas of the Parks (yup, there are other areas that we still know and love)! We’ve got merchandise from Downtown Disney, a few new-ish menu items, and some entertainment updates! Buckle up, it’s time to SOAR into What’s New!!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Food
First, we’ll fortify ourselves with some fresh eats! Disneyland Park’s Mint Julep Bar is offering up a seasonal Watermelon Mint Julep! Because the only way to make a mint julep even more refreshing is to pump that juice full of watermelon! See our review here!
Next, we need a donut. White Water Snacks has a funky new-ish Star Wars Galaxy Donut. So if you’re not into Star Wars, you can say you got a memento, and you’re totally a HUGE fan of Star Wars… donuts.
May the Force be with you… and by Force we mean carbs. May the CARBS be with you. (What? That’s OUR Force!)
We really love the marbleized look of the glaze here, and the white chocolate icons are fun. Metallic rock candy adds some texture. And our pal Heather (beep boop her @DiningInDisney) said these were (inter)stellar donuts!
Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff on Disney California Adventure Park’s Pixar Pier has Alien Caramel Apples. These animated offerings include a couple of marshmallow ears, three bright eyes, and blue and purple sugar bottoms.
They’re a return from last summer’s Pixar Fest, and we’re glad to have them back!
Lemon and Wild Blueberry Bread Pudding at Pacific Wharf Cafe is a can’t-miss seasonal treat. Head over to DCA to get yours before they’re gone! (And see our review here to find out why you simply must!)
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Construction
Pixar Pals Parking Structure is coming along! This massive parking garage will open this summer, and now work on the colorful pavers seems nearly complete.
The covered walkway adjacent to the Parking Structure is progressing, too.
And the Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is getting its finishing touches ahead of the summer opening!
What’s New in Disneyland Resort Entertainment
In Disneyland Park, we spotted a new Wait Times Board.
And of course the BIG news in California Adventure Park is that Soarin’ is back to its roots — for one month only! See our report here — with PICS of Soarin’ Over California!!
The OTHER big news in DCA is the advent of a colorful, energetic new show called Tale of the Lion King!
The Palisades Stage comes alive with dancing, music, and performance inspired by — what else?! — The Lion King!

What’s New in Disneyland Resort Merchandise
And now that we’ve avoided Star Wars for almost all of the above, we shall overdose on merchandise to make up for it. (See why we fortified ourselves earlier?) World of Disney in Downtown Disney has loads of merchandise for Galaxy’s Edge and Star Wars. Recall that Galaxy’s Edge itself won’t have Star Wars– or Galaxy’s Edge-branded merchandise, so you’ll have to stock up in other areas of the Resort.
This display features some great sweatshirts and hats — plus three Loungefly backpack designs!
If you loved Creature Stall in Black Spire Outpost, you can get a huggable creature here. Some of the creatures in this display have arms with wires inside that make them perfect for snuggling. (They’re called Snuggle Snappers.)
This display offers come clothing options for Star Wars couples. Although… “I know” is a bit of a controversial response, no? Still: iconic.
There are several hat designs on display including this dramatic Vader cap.
If you prefer ears to caps, these Yoda Ears have nailed the details right down to the ear hair. (Where’s the wide-eyed emoji when you need it?!)
These Light-Up Star Wars Ears feature iconic starships in a battle royale!
Chewbacca Ears have a nice fuzzy quality to them. (Plus, maybe it’s just us, but the ears look like chocolate, so we’re in.)
There are tons of tees available, including these emotional Darth Vader and Stormtrooper shirts. Honestly, guys: keep it together.
We love this R2-D2 shirt featuring the spires of Black Spire Outpost!
And if you just couldn’t drop two hundo at Savi’s Workshop — Handbuilt Lightsabers, World of Disney has a couple cheaper, plastic options. These ones are retractable for easier transport and drama.
And these are not retractable and come in additional colors (we also spotted green).
Keep track of your starship keys with R2-D2, Death Star, and Millennium Falcon keychains.
And annoy everyone in your path with the R2-D2 spinner!
If you’re a collector of figures, World of Disney has lots of options. Yoda is a fan favorite, of course, and he talks and moves. (No ear hair in sight, though.)
The Stormtroopers are die cast, which explains a lot…
Drink away your Star Wars exhaustion with this colorful tumbler…
…and this cool starship blueprint mug!
And finally, we end with a Moment of Zen in the form of a Rainbow Unicorn Loungefly:
That’s that, folks! Thanks for hanging out with us as we explored Disneyland Resort! We’ll be bringing you lots more What’s New this week, so stay tuned!
