We Found the Most Adorable Stitch Cake You’ll Ever See at Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort
June 26th (6/26, of course) is known among Lilo & Stitch fans as “626 Day.” And that means that we have spent a huge chunk of the day celebrating our favorite blue alien Experiment 626: Stitch!
Disney has also been celebrating this iconic day with a couple snacks dedicated to Stitch himself at Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort.
We have already reviewed the Experiment 626 Cone from Pineapple Lanai, which people literally lined up for today!
And now, we’re going to be reviewing another super fun — and super blue! — treat: the 626 Specialty Cake from Kona Island at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
This is a plain chocolate cake covered in fondant, which is formed to look just like Stitch. The ears are made of white chocolate and the little leaves are buttercream.
When it came to the dome cake itself, it was almost brownie-like.
Not too dry, not too moist. Just a basic cake, really. Since the cake seems to be made more for photos than eating… well, the fondant was very thick and not super appealing.
We did enjoy the treat, but it’s hard for us to say it’s a favorite since there are so many delicious snacks at the Polynesian.
At this time, we were told that this is a limited-time only treat to celebrate 626 Day. So, we don’t think it will be sticking around after today. BUT! A Cast Member did mention that it may come back some day (plus, he’s just too cute to not share with you) …so fingers crossed for all our Stitch fans that the Stitch Cake makes a return. (Judging by the lines for the Stitch Experiment 626 Cone, it very well may!)
