Review! New Items — Nigerian Meat Pie and More — Debut at Epcot’s Refreshment Outpost!

Refreshment Outpost in Epcot’s World Showcase (you’ll find it on the stroll from the China pavilion on the way towards Germany) typically serves up your basic soft-serve and slushies, with a few fun cocktails thrown in for good measure.

Refreshment Outpost New Menu Items!

But they’re changing things up a bit with some new menu items at the Outpost: the Nigerian Meat Pie, No Worries Panna Cotta, and the Savanna Smoothie!

Refreshment Outpost Menu

Starting off with the Nigerian Meat Pie, we thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The pie contains an interesting blend of apricot curry, beef, and onions. We personally thought it needed a bit more spice, but the flavor is still great.

This dish costs $5.49 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit, and we thought the portion was solid for the price. We can highly recommend the Nigerian Meat Pie for a midday or afternoon snack!

The No Worries Panna Cotta consists of layers of raspberry, papaya, and mango panna cotta, with a cookie crumble base and a Lion King white chocolate piece.

No Worries Panna Cotta

For starters, we love the Hakuna Matata reference in this treat’s name — it certainly made us smile!

While we weren’t bowled over with the texture of the panna cotta, we thought the fruity flavors were wonderful together. We didn’t expect to like the cookie crumbles paired with the fruit, but we actually really enjoyed it. It’s not too sweet, which we definitely appreciated.

You can try the No Worries Panna Cotta for $4.49 or a DDP snack credit.

We also tried the Savannah Smoothie. (That’s the name as listed on the menu — we’re guessing it should be the “Savanna Smoothie.”) This beverage consists of coconut milk, agave, and Amarula Cream Liqueur and is topped with whipped cream.

Savannah Smoothie

This drink is very small for the price ($11.25), but it’s absolutely delicious and refreshing since Amarula is pretty much the bee’s knees. We loved the whipped cream and the strong coconut flavor. If you don’t enjoy coconut, you may not love this treat, but we certainly did! The Savannah Smoothie is NOT eligible as a DDP snack credit.

Overall, we were pretty pleased to see Refreshment Outpost try some new things! Head over to the kiosk in Epcot’s World Showcase if you’d like to try any of these new unique eats.
