Pics and Review! New Menu Items at Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Restaurantosaurus in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going through a few changes this summer.
The spot is currently accepting Advance Dining Reservations for a new dinner experience — Restaurantosaurus Burgers and Sundaes — which kicks off on August 18th. But smaller changes are taking place now, including two new items on the regular menu that we’re checking out today: the plant-based Spicy Southwestern Burger and the Restaurantosaurus Cobb Salad.
These replaced the Black Bean Burger and the Grilled Chicken Salad with Mandarin Oranges and Cranberries that were previously on the menu.
Yep, that Spicy Southwestern Burger you see on the menu features a plant-based burger patty! (It’s in the small print just underneath the listing.)
It’s topped with Pepper Jack cheese, chipotle sauce, lettuce, and tomato.
It’s served with fries, and is one of the entrees that includes a trip to the Topping Bar. But we got ours so you could see it just as it’s served.
As far as the patty itself goes, our preference lies with the Black Bean Burger they used to serve here.
That said, this one’s still not bad. It’s not dry like some veggie burger patties can be, nor does it have a weird aftertaste. And the mentioned “spicy”-ness was present, if subtle.
The new Restaurantosausus Cobb Salad is topped with grilled chicken, a hard-boiled egg, blue cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, and Green Goddess dressing.
The thing is, it’s hard to read “Cobb Salad” in Disney World and not compare it to the truly classic and excellent Cobb Salad over at The Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
But, taken for what it is, the Restaurantosaurus version is fine.
Some welcome improvements would include more blue cheese, egg, and tomato. But it’s still a nice heathier option to have.
So, that’s the latest from Dinoland, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom! But it’s not our last stop here this summer. As mentioned, this dining location will feature a new dinner experience starting August 18th, which will be a fixed-price dinner including a variety of burgers and entrees to choose from and a build-your-own Sundae Bar. Regular counter service, which will include options like those we’ve talked about today, will still be available for dinner guests. But if you’re considering making an Advance Dining Reservation on the Disney World website for the new Restaurantosaurus Burgers and Sundaes dinner, you can read more about it here!
