New Details Revealed for Takumi-Tei Opening This Summer in Epcot’s Japan Pavilion
This summer, Epcot’s Japan pavilion will welcome a new signature restaurant: Takumi-Tei!

The new restaurant’s name and some initial details were announced a few weeks ago. But today brings more information on this upcoming dining experience thanks to a new page on the Disney World website.
Though the restaurant’s page does not currently list a menu or the option to make Advance Dining Reservations, it does reveal a bit more about the setting which guests will be dining in.

Or perhaps I should say “settings,” as the site reveals that guests will dine in one of 5 rooms inspired by naturals elements: water, wood, earth, stone or washi paper. The Chef’s Table, which will feature an exclusive menu, will be located in the Water Room, a space designed to “immerse diners in a tranquil setting that reflects the balance between nature and Japanese art.”
It is also shared that “Every area will feature beautiful, handcrafted works of art honoring the element that brought it to life.” (As previously announced, Takumi-Tei is Japanese for “house of the artisan.”)

Japan’s beauty will be “featured both in its art and in its cuisine.” The page reminds that Takumi-Tei will offer “creatively prepared, Japanese-inspired dishes from a multicourse tasting menu, featuring a traditional Japanese tea service.”

Interested guests will want to note that Disney provides the Dress Code for guests, with the minimum dress code required and dressier attire welcome. The minimum dress code is as follows, according to the Disney World website:
“Men must wear khakis, slacks or dress shorts and collared shirts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition. Sport coats are optional.
Women must wear Capri pants, skirts, dresses or dress shorts. Jeans may be worn if in good condition.
Not permitted are tank tops, flip-flops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing and t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics.”
Again, booking is not yet open for Takumi-Tei, and an opening date has not yet been announced. But we’ll be keeping you posted here!
