Disney Cruise Line Announces “The Princess and the Frog” Enhancements And More for the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship
The beautiful Disney Wonder — one of the four current ships of the Disney Cruise Line fleet — will be receiving enhancements which guests setting sail will enjoy starting this fall!
Joining Tiana’s Place — one of three rotational dining restaurants on the Disney Wonder — will be additions themed to “The Princess and the Frog”!
The new French Quarter Lounge will present entertainment and themed family-friendly activities with “a touch of bayou hospitality.” Live music will be performed on the gazebo stage which guests can enjoy while sipping on specialty drinks at “an updated whimsical bar.” Daytime hours will offer New Orleans-themed family activities, trivia and even character encounters!
The setting of the lounge itself will “evoke an airy outdoor space in New Orleans, surrounded by touches of iconic architecture such as wrought-iron balconies, classic brick walls and shutter-framed windows.” A life-size trolley car and plenty of tributes to “The Princess and the Frog” will add more decorative elements by way of signs and facades.
Redesigns are also on the way to dedicated teen and adult spaces. Vibe, the club for teens ages 14-17, will sport a new, refreshed and open look with a light color palette and metal work. Vibe will also welcome a new coffee bar along with updated virtual reality technology in this spot just for teens.
Cove Café, which is an adult-exclusive coffee lounge, will be transformed to have a feel reminiscent of “a local coffee shop, complete with warm, comfortable and trendy décor.” Cove Café will continue to serve specialty coffee and tea drinks in the day then wine, cocktails and light bites at night. The Signals pool bar will receive a similar redesign.
Guests can expect to experience these enhancements on sailings starting September 30, 2019. And the additions are timely, as the Disney Wonder will begin Caribbean and Bahamian sailings from New Orleans starting February 7, 2020.
