Bright Suns! Full BREAKFAST Review at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
It’s time to bid “Bright suns!” (that’s HELLO!) to the day with breakfast at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo! Docking Bay is the brand new land’s largest quick service dining location. They’ll be serving up intergalactic eats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and we’re enjoying bites on opening day!

The menu for breakfast at Docking Bay is small, featuring just three entrees plus one kids’ breakfast item. Unsurprisingly, these items all have an interesting twist that makes them unique to Batuu.

Also available at breakfast: the restaurant’s Specialty Beverages. These include Moof Juice, Phattro, and Batuubucha Tea. We’ll have a review of these drinks coming soon (as well as lunch and dinner items!).

First up for breakfast: Rising Moons Overnight Oats. This fruity oatmeal dish is also available for breakfast at Ronto Roasters and Oga’s Cantina. “Rising moons” is a greeting that basically means “good afternoon”, so we expect Rising Moons Overnight Oats to keep you fueled up and energized through a busy morning in Black Spire Outpost!

The fruit topping will be seasonal, but it’s expected always to contain some “otherworldly” dragon fruit. Other fruits on our visit included kiwi, mango, blueberries, and blackberries. What a comfort that they can grow some familiar fruits on Batuu, eh?

The oats themselves are great for those who enjoy the texture and taste of long-cooked oats. We’re not sure these are actually overnight oats (like when you cook oats in a CrockPot), but they’re really good! The pink color comes from the addition of dragon fruit juice (there are sporadic black seeds in there, too), and the fruity, slightly sweet flavor is a nice, fairly light way to start the day.

But if you want to fuel up your internal star ship with something more substantial, you might want to order the Bright Suns Morning. This is a hearty and filling plate of food — definitely enough to share if you’re so inclined.

The visual star of the dish is the bright yellow round of egg, which to our eye appears to contain some shredded cheese. (We didn’t taste it so much, but you’ll want to check with the cast members upon ordering if you have cheese issues!)

Indeed the egg is… sun-like: bright, yellow, and energizing.

But if you have a texture issue, be forewarned: these are baked scrambled eggs. They’re fairly fluffy and soft, but they do have a skin on them from the cooking process. Still: it’s an egg! Good protein and a familiar breakfast staple!

The purple potato hash accompaniment on the Bright Suns Morning isn’t much to look at, but it was delicious to eat! Accompanying the purple potatoes (which taste like potatoes…) are red peppers, pearl onions, and mushrooms (we’re thinking oyster based on the appearance!). There’s nothing tricky in the seasoning (just some salt and pepper), but the hearty combination of vegetables was satisfying and filling.

The sausage on Bright Suns Morning is the same as is served over at Ronto Roasters (so, you know, pitmaster droid-cooked meat heated by podracer engine…), and it’s a flavorful, savory addition to the plate. This is a long, narrow sausage cut in half, so if you’re sharing, you don’t have to fight over it. (On the other hand, you might want both pieces, so bring your lightsaber, just in case).

The final piece of the Bright Suns Morning breakfast is a mini Mustafarian Lava Roll. We got a full-size version for research purposes.

This is a tremendously sweet breakfast item that, well, is like eating dessert for breakfast. It’s essentially puff pastry spiraled into a roll, baked with chocolate mousse inside and topped with chocolate cookie crumbles and red berry glaze. The white crumbles are a bit of a mystery. They’re sweet (like the center of an Oreo) but a bit more crumbly. Perhaps pulverized sugar cookie? Whatever they are, the color is a welcome contrast, and a little more sugar isn’t going to tip the balance on this one!

Inside the puff pastry is a swirl of what we’re calling chocolate mousse based on the smooth texture, but it’s a very thin layer likely spread on the puff pastry before it was rolled up.

If you’re washing down your breakfast at Docking Bay with a fountain beverage or a cup of water, you won’t find Disney Parks-branded paper cups in Docking Bay (or straws and lids, for that matter).

Instead you’ll find these Galaxy’s Edge-exclusive paper cups, the design of which is stark and graphic like the land itself.
