Afternoon Tea at Disneyland Hotel Turns Into A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party!

“We’re all mad here…” because Classic Afternoon Tea at Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel has turned into A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party!

A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party

Though you may experience the traditional Afternoon Tea depending on when you visit, themed Afternoon Teas often reflect the various seasons and celebrations around Disneyland Resort throughout the year. Previous themed Teas include last summer’s Pixar Fest Afternoon Tea and Mickey’s Tea Party Celebration as part of “Get Your Ears On.” A Very Merry Unbirthday Tea Party is the current theme from now through September 1, 2019!

Our friend Heather (@diningindisney on Instagram) was there for all the topsy-turvy fun, and shared pictures of what happens when Afternoon Tea takes on an Alice in Wonderland-themed twist.

As always, guests can choose from either the Classic Tea Party or the Premium Tea Party which includes sparkling wine, salad, and a Farewell Truffle in addition to the Classic inclusions of scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts. (A Kids Tea Party is also an option.)

Your choice of tea is also included with each package, of course!

Fun tip from Heather: you can choose to have your tea hot or iced! She went with the refreshing iced Organic Pear Tree Green Tea.

Lovely themed floral arrangements on each table help to set the scene.

But the main theming comes by way of the FOOD! Bright colors straight from Wonderland fill the plates from the top to the bottom of the tiers.

Traditional scones are served with orange curd (a little twist from the usual lemon), Devonshire cream, and strawberry marmalade.

And it looks like the crew from Wonderland aren’t the only characters represented. Hi, Mickey!!

The course also features Blueberry Pancetta Bacon and Mushroom, a Bocconcini Tart, and Duck Prosciutto and Mascarpone. These present unique twists on the standard egg and cucumber sandwich assortments not just in flavor, but also in appearance well in keeping with the theme.

No need to be “late for a very important date” like the White Rabbit thanks to the Rabbit’s timepiece on the Banana Macaron!
