What’s New at Disneyland! Menu Updates, More Construction, and Merchandise from Sea to Shining Sea!

It’s time for another installment of What’s New from Disneyland Resort! This week we have some delicious menu additions in Fantasyland, fun construction progress, and more merch than you can wave a flag at. 😉 Come stroll through Walt’s park with us!

Disneyland’s Sleeping Beauty Castle

(No, the castle’s not uncovered yet. A couple more weeks!)

Disneyland Resort Food and Menu What’s New

We’re starting with food news, which includes some awesome eats from Red Rose Taverne in Fantasyland. The breakfast menu has two filling new-to-us options: Beast’s Breakfast Burger and Stuffed French Toast.

Red Rose Taverne Breakfast Menu

We’ll have a review for these comin’ riiiiiight up!

Stuffed French Toast and Breakfast Burger

Meanwhile for lunch and dinner, Red Rose Taverne has added Slow-Cooked Beef Poutine! How ’bout those pickled onions?

Slow-Cooked Beef Poutine

And for the heartiest of appetites: Beast’s Forbidden Burger. It’s topped with a Wagyu beef steak, which sounds enchanted to us. 😉

Beast’s Forbidden Burger

Caramelized onions also make a big impression. This is served with Pommes Frites, so yes, please, we’d like one right now. (Review coming soon!)

If you’re ready for some sweet (and TART), head over to Jolly Holiday for a Key Lime Custard. This super tart treat — returning to the menu — is smooth and cool. It’s a delicious summertime dessert.

Key Lime Custard

We tried this treat back in March when it was called a Key Lime Tart (see our review here!). The only thing that’s changed is the garnish. The white and chocolate piece used to be a white chocolate daisy. Still a real pucker-up kind of treat. 😉

White Water Snacks at Disneyland’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa has a new Butterfly Cupcake.

Butterfly Cupcake

This chocolate cupcake has no filling — but it makes up for that with multi-color butter cream, bright seasonal colors, and a white chocolate butterfly!

For Mother’s Day, Trolley Treats created a purple rose cake pop. This was chocolate cake infused with raspberry flavor.

Purple Rose Cake Pop

So pretty we had to give it a photo shoot. 😉 The edible gold dust is prominent on this rose (often it’s hard to discern on the red rose cake pops).

Disneyland Resort Construction What’s New

There’s some visible progress on the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. Some wall board is going up on the escalators.

Pixar Pals Parking Structure

And much work continues on the stairwells, too.

Signs are up for each level, with characters visible on some. Level three is red, which means…

Cars! Mater and Lightning McQueen are ready to greet drivers as they circle for a spot.

And it loooooooks like level four features James P. Sullivan of Monsters, Inc., fame.

We also spied this cute worker safety signage, too. Glad to see Mickey is safety-conscious.

Rita’s Baja Blenders in Disney California Adventure got a paint job. The colorful margarita mecca has a bright orange-and-teal color scheme now. (It used to be brown!)

From high above DCA on the Pixar Pal-A-Round, we spy Bing Bong’s Emotional Whirl Wind! The memory balls are moving into place!

Bing Bong’s Emotional Whirl Wind

The ride will open up this summer — then we’ll send these construction memories on down to Long Term. 😉

Silly Symphony Swings is rising once again! This fun ride is slated to reopen later this month. We’ll keep you posted!

The view from Pixar Pal-A-Round extends to the park’s future superhero-themed land! There’s not a lot to see yet — unless you’re really into construction materials — but we’ll keep riding so we can give you a birds’ eye view.

On Main Street, U.S.A., the mural that began last week appears to be nearly finished!

The mural features vehicles from the early 1900s (and some stylish drivers and passengers, too!).

Disneyland Resort Merchandise What’s New

Holy Toledo, there’s a lot of merchandise to speak of this week! We’ll start at Elias & Co., where there are two Mad Tea Party-inspired pieces of apparel. This black-and-white graphic sweatshirt features Mickey and Minnie mid-spin!

Patriotic Minnie and Mickey plush are available here, too! (We spotted these at Mouse Gear in Disney World’s Epcot, but they’re popping up all over!) Um…does Minnie always have a unibrow with eyelashes?

We spotted this bottle opener ball cap on the east coast, too (in Animal Kingdom), but know that you can get your multi-tasking hat on both coasts now. 😉

Julius Katz & Sons has Americana merchandise, too — mostly household items.

Also at World of Disney: so much fun Mickey merch!

And there’s a great display of Aladdin merchandise just in time for the live action movie’s release on May 24!

This bomber jacket is so wild, we can’t resist, even though maybe we should…

Aladdin Bomber Jacket

The kids’ version has a pretty background pattern, too.

This Princess Jasmine tank, though, we absolutely must have. The frill on the neckline is pretty, and the cinched hem with tie is so great.

But, like, what can we say about this next item? It’s a Magic Carpet cross body purse by Danielle Nicole. And it’s everything. (We know — that’s a cliche these days — but this time it’s true.)

And a Magic Carpet keychain that’s so big you can’t lose it in your new Magic Carpet cross body purse. Just sayin’.

The store also has two odes to the big blue Genie. This one’s a little subtle:

…but this one really speaks to us. 😉 If you’re east coast-bound, you’ll find this in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, too!

Of course, there’s a plush for that, too. Genie!

For some retro Aladdin fun: this tank has you covered! No new interpretations here, just the good old VHS cover art.

And some bangles because what’s a Disney princess without some bling? Alex and Ani have three Aladdin designs from which to choose. Or, you know, get one of each.

Or you can go the Pumba route and get this Hakuna Matata shirt. (Please, feel free to take a minute to sing the song. We’ll wait.)

Over on Pixar Pier, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff has a funky Rainbow Unicorn Keychain. It’s just colorful enough, right?

At various merchandise locations in both parks, you can unwrap your very own Lollipop Ears. Note that the pops themselves are plastic, not cloth. (And note that we’ve seen these on the east coast, too!)
