PHOTO TOUR of Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge’s quick service restaurant. Like the rest of this new land — officially open TODAY at Disneyland Park!! — Docking Bay is highly themed. The restaurant is recognizable for the multi-transport shuttle on its roof, so if you’re looking for some galactic eats, head toward the shuttle!

And if you’re looking for some Star Wars Easter eggs, look up! Cargo containers pay homage to the original trilogy!

The entrance of the restaurant is in this curved, weathered portion of the building. Note the sagging wires and aged patina that are evident all over Black Spire Outpost.

To the left of the entrance is a static menu displaying seven entree items. Three of these items are lunch only OR dinner only, so note that when you’re browsing. (And stay tuned for our FULL FOOD REVIEW coming soon!)

To the right of the entrance, you’ll find this faded ‘sign’ letting guests know they’ve found Docking Bay 7.

Inside and immediately to the right are ordering kiosks. It appears that four cast members at most can take orders simultaneously. In this image, the ordering kisoks are just beyond the canisters in the foreground. Above the registers are three LED screen menu boards.

Order and Pick-Up areas

Beyond the registers and menu boards is the pick-up counter. Docking Bay is similar to many Disney Parks quick service spots in that guests order then walk forward to a separate pick-up counter. Pass-throughs are seen behind the pick-up counter.

Pick-Up Area

Once a diner has her tray of Galactic eats, she will turn toward her left, where the seating is arranged in a number of different forms. These low tables are heavy and given a metallic patina. Seating on ‘cargo’ barrels is casual and flexible, but there are some seats with proper backs for those who need or want it.

To give you some context, you can see the base of an ordering kiosk at the top of this photo, which looks back toward the ordering kiosks and pick-up counter.

Seating

There is also some bar-type seating, both low and high. There are several of these banks of low and high tables throughout the space.

High Tops

In addition to the seating out in the open of the cargo bay, there are also (totally super cool!) cargo containers outfitted with seating and tables! These containers have a side propped open to allow entry and have small ‘windows’ on each end. Some of these containers contain one large table, while others have two or more tables.

Cargo Container Seating

Seating in the container cargos is on those cargo barrel stools and banquette-style seating that appears to be part of the back wall of the cargo container.

There are five cargo container seating areas throughout the space, and while they do take up some space, they’re so on-theme and special that they really help to set the scene.

Other things that set the scene: ingredients on display (and on ‘ice’)! This display of alien fish is near the ordering area and visible to guests dining in this area of the restaurant.

There are also lots of exposed industrial details, like ductwork, pipes, and wires.

But Docking Bay also has a hidden secret: a thoroughly charming outdoor patio area that you’ll definitely want to check out (and keep in mind should you need a place to get away from it all!). When in the restaurant, look for the left-most exit door. It leads to this beautiful space. Seen below is that exit door as seen from the patio itself.

Seating outside is at chunky wooden tables with booth-style seating and small stools. The decor outside is a mix of metal, wood, and stone.

Outdoor Seating at Docking Bay

There are twelve total tables on the patio, which also has triangular fabric pieces spread overhead to provide some (but not a ton of) shade.

The area is gated and so separate from the area outside of it. This wall of crumbling stone arches, stacked stone, and metal fencing provides some separation. There is an exit from the patio, and presumably guests could enter the patio from the outside. No word on whether this will be allowed or discouraged.

There’s a bit of shade from a nearby tree, which casts lovely shadows on the patio area. And the views? They’re not too shabby!

Views from Docking Bay 7’s Outdoor Patio

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is going to become a popular place to grab a bite, and every detail (even the trash cans) is themed to fit the space and the land itself. The open design of the dining room will likely mean Docking Bay is a noisy place to dine, but if you can score seating on the outdoor patio, it’ll be a pleasant experience.

And stay tuned because we will be bringing you a full review of breakfast, lunch, and dinner eats SOON!
