New Carousel Cupcake Takes a Spin at Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort!
Yes, we were just at Gasparilla Island Grill at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort yesterday to try their new Mocha Cupcake. But that doesn’t mean we can’t come right back to try an even newer cupcake making its debut TODAY, does it?
Nope. And now, having seen the new Carousel Cupcake yourself, I’m sure you understand why!
This cupcake immediately draws the eye with its carnival-striped buttercream and charming white chocolate carousel horse on the top.
I couldn’t help but think of Mary Poppins when I saw the whole thing. I’m not sure if that’s the official theme or if it’s just a turn-of-the-century tribute, but I’m a fan either way!
Underneath the big top is a very moist, sweet confetti cake base filled with vanilla custard.
Though fine in flavor, the custard had something of a gelatinous texture which would have been better if it were closer to a Boston cream.
Overall, though, it is still tasty with its basic, simple flavor profile in contrast to its unique appearance.
So enjoy this turn-of-the-century themed cupcake while you can at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort!
