DETAILS Announced for Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Virtual Queue Starting June 24th
So, we already learned more today about how the 4-hour time windows will be enforced for those with required reservations to enter Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from May 31 – June 23, 2019.

But what if you’re planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on or after June 24th, when reservations are no longer required? Well, The Orange County Register has revealed information regarding the virtual queue that will be in place after the required reservation period ends.
According to the article, starting June 24th, Disneyland guests who want to enter Galaxy’s Edge will have to log into the Disneyland app to secure a “boarding pass” in a virtual queue system. This system is designed to manage crowd levels for this highly anticipated land.

Disneyland Vice President Kris Theiler is quoted: “It’s very, very important for us that our guests who are coming here don’t spend their time standing in line to get into the land.”
While there will be NO time limit for guests once in the land, they MUST be inside Disneyland park to select a Galaxy’s Edge boarding group.

After securing a boarding pass, the article states that “Push notifications will be sent to Disneyland visitors when it’s time for their boarding group to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Kiosks throughout the park will issue paper boarding passes to visitors not using the smartphone app.” Guests will then have two hours to arrive for their boarding pass entry after receiving the notification.

But here’s a note for the early birds! “Early morning visitors will be able to head directly into the land without securing a boarding pass with the virtual queuing system. A status bar in the Disneyland app will notify visitors when Galaxy’s Edge is full and boarding passes are required. Late night visitors may also find that boarding passes are not required to enter the land.” And ultimately, Disneyland intends to stop utilizing the virtual queue system once crowd levels are more manageable.
So, if you’re aiming to land a spot in the Virtual Queue, we say it to you once more… May the Force be with you!
