Celebrate “The Lion King” With Treats Coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Starting May 24th!

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of “The Lion King” (and the live-action version of the film will make its debut in July!). And to celebrate, Disney’s Animal Kingdom is rolling out all the snacks — I mean, all the stops! — with a variety of treats available starting May 24th which will be available through the end of the summer!

Tamu Tamu

Stop by Tamu Tamu for the Simba Ice Cream Sandwich: Vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies and decorated with a chocolate tail and an image of Simba.

It’s also where you’ll find Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip: Pineapple Dole Whip topped with red syrup made up of watermelon and coconut.

The King’s Cooler is the same as Simba’s Sunset Dole Whip, but with RUM!

Shave Ice Cart

Visit the Shave Ice Cart (near Africa’s Harambe Market) for an Asante Slush: Shaved ice topped with watermelon and passion fruit-mango syrup.

Dawa Bar, Harambe Market, and Boneyard Bar

You’ll find the red Serengeti Sangria at Dawa Bar, Harambe Market, and Boneyard Bar.

Anandapur Bus and Trilo-Bites

The Bugs ‘n Grub Waffle Cone — chocolate soft-serve ice cream in a green cone with cookies and cream “dirt” crumbles, gummy worms, and a chocolate beetle — will be served at the Anandapur Bus and Trilo-Bites.

Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co.

Get some special Lion King latte art at Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Co. locations in the park!

You’ll also be able to order up the Lion’s Latte — a hot or iced latte with white chocolate and coconut and featuring Joffrey’s “Flavors of Africa” artisan roast coffee from Kenya.

Pizzafari

And, of course, you’ll find the Simba Cupcake (which is available now) at Pizzafari.

It’s a vanilla cupcake filled with white chocolate mousse and topped with buttercream, an edible piece featuring Simba, and a mane of orange and yellow icing.

Tusker House (Breakfast)

Guests dining with Mickey and friends at Tusker House for breakfast will find Simba and Nala waffles on the buffet.

Later This Summer…

While it seems these won’t be available this Friday when the snacks debut, Disney shares that “The Lion King” novelty sipper and popcorn bucket will be available “later this summer” at carts around the park!

So, start working on your ROAR and get ready for all the new Lion King treats at Animal Kingdom starting this Friday!
