What’s New at Disneyland Resort This Week!
It’s time to head back to Disneyland Resort to see What’s New! We found lots of construction — and related scrims — plenty of fun new merchandise, and a sweet cupcake!
Disneyland Resort Construction
Sleeping Beauty Castle is still under scrims and scaffolding. There’s no end date for this refurbishment, but work includes repairs of damage to the castle roof from the park’s 60th celebration in 2015.
We also peeked through the construction walls and saw work being done on the walkways around the castle.
And nearby — sadness! — the Donut Cart is behind construction walls! We’ve gotten some pretty solid confirmation from cast members that the donut cart has been demolished and will not be returning, but that the donuts will still be on their same schedule — deliveries in the morning and at 5pm — and will be sold at Jolly Holiday instead of at the donut cart.
Down Main Street, U.S.A., Mad Hatter is also under construction.
Signs let guests know the shop is open… for all head sizes.
Over in Frontierland, Bonanza Outfitters is open despite a lot of exterior construction.
On Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure, the Emotional Whirl Wind concept art is up on the construction walls. It’s so colorful and… we can’t remember the word… oh: fun!
Peep those memories heading on over to Long Term!
Meanwhile work continues on the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. This is expected to open in summer 2019.
Disneyland Resort Eggstravaganza
Disneyland’s Eggstravaganza 2019 is in full swing, with maps available in California Adventure for stops at Flo’s V-8 Cafe, Hyperion Theater, and ten other locations.
Spoiler Alert: If you don’t want to know where to find Lightning McQueen or the White Rabbit, avert your eyes and scroll! Otherwise… continue.
Head to Flo’s V-8 for your Lightning McQueen egg! Ka-chow!
In Downtown Disney, another Eggstravaganza is underway, with twelve more locations!
Meanwhile in Disneyland Park, you’ll find the White Rabbit in the Emporium. He’s a tricky one!
In addition to the egg scavenger hunts, there’s an Easter egg photo opp. Are you a blue egg or a red egg?
Disneyland Resort Merchandise
In Downtown Disney’s Lego Store, you’ll find Steamboat Willie!
This big one is going to set you back a pretty penny, though!
At Elias & Co. in California Adventure, you can buy a new it’s a small world purse to go with your coin purses!
At the Emporium, you’ll find a new series of mugs with paintbrush handles, an ode to animation.
The Moana mug features the movie’s title on one side…
…and an iconic phrase from the movie on the other. Also: Hei-Hei looking charmingly confused.
The Pixar Luxo Ball now has its own mug — so fun!
There are plenty of Wishables in the Emporium, too. Choose from Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, or a Mickey Ice Cream Cone.
You’ll also find Wishables blind bags, including the Wishables Parks Food Series! (See more pics here!)
The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage Series is super fun!
And the Pirates of the Caribbean Attraction Series has us wondering: Which attraction will be next?! What do you hope they come out with? Tell us in the comments!
Disney Clothiers has a couple of fun options. The Rainbow Unicorn Hat is a must have for every elementary-age kid in America. (Also adults who know they’re unicorns at heart!)
Goofy’s What’s Poppin’ Tee Shirt comes in a totally awesome box!
If you’re on the lookout for more Rainbow Unicorn merch, you’ll have to make a second stop for this plush, which is over at Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff.
Note that the sign says one plush is $26.99…
…but the tag says $27.99. Rainbow Unicorns don’t come cheap, y’all.
At Adventureland Bazaar, you can advertise your philosophy with this Hakuna Matata spirit jersey! “It means no worries / for the rest of your days!”
Disneyland Resort Food News
A few little bites in the food news round-up this week! The fourth spork in Tropical Hideaway’s spork series is a Tiki Bird! See more here!
And at Candy Palace, a Briar Rose Gold Minnie Cupcake brings the cute!
Buttercream and crispy pearls top a vanilla cake. (Minnie wants in, don’t you think?)
And a pair of sweet Minnie ears finish the look. We love the combination of that dimensional bow and the lovely piping.
