Disneyland is currently restoring the Adventureland marquee and have put up this historic sign in its place!

The Adventureland marquee sign that guests are so accustomed to seeing has been removed as part of a MAJOR Adventureland change. According to The Orange County Register, Disneyland is currently widening Adventureland’s entryway. They are making these changes in hopes that this will help with the congestion that often occurs in the area.

This project called for the “demolition of the existing Adventureland marquee,” but this does not mean that the actual sign will be demolished. Disneyland officials have said that they plan on using as much of the original marquee as possible, and the plan is to replace the sign from the 1990s with one that is almost identical, according to the article.

For the time being, this sign will stand in place of the Adventureland sign we all know and love! What’s interesting about it, you ask? Well, friends, this Adventureland sign used to hang near the Jungle Cruise in the ’60s and ’70s! Pretty groovy, right?

The Adventureland entry will remain open during park hours as construction will be taking place overnight. Disney hopes to have the project completed by May 31, 2019, just in time for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! This is just one of many changes Disney is making to make sure they can operate as normal with the high volume of guests that will be in the park during this exciting time!
