What’s New in Epcot: Construction Progress, New Food Merch, Updated Menus, and More
Epcot is a busy park these days! Each visit finds construction progress, menu updates, and new must-have merchandise! See what we found this week!
We started our visit out checking on the progress of the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
The Guardians of the Galaxy attraction will open in 2021 in time for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. You can see the ride building and its progress from various points all over the park — from the parking lot to the Japan pavilion in World Showcase.
The queue building is a little less imposing, and will be in a transformed Universe of Energy Building.

A new space-themed restaurant is coming to Epcot and will be between the Mission: Space and Test Track attractions.
The new restaurant will open in 2020. Learn more about the new-space themed restaurant here!
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
The World Showcase is getting ready for a new nighttime spectacular later this year. Before its arrival, there is quite a lot of construction going on around and in the World Showcase Lagoon.
In fact, there are actually TWO new nighttime spectaculars on the way to the park; a temporary show, Epcot Forever, will make its debut later this year while we await an all-new production in 2020.Learn more about the new nighttime spectaculars coming to Epcot here.
Canada’s popular Le Cellier Steakhouse has added a new Inspired by Flavors of Africa Poutine to their menu. Sweet Potato Fries count Boerewors Sausage and Spicy Chakalaka among the toppings.
You will find a lot of construction as you near the France pavilion and the International Gateway. Some of the work in the International Gateway area is to add Epcot’s Skyliner Station to the park. We do not know, and no announcements have been made, about the construction after the International Gateway entrance seen below.
As always, we will be sure to keep you posted on construction updates, announcements, and progress.
The France pavilion is getting ready to welcome a new creperie, a Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along, and a Ratatouille attraction — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in the next few years. The Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along is promised to come “soon”, with the Ratatouille attraction — Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure opening in 2021. An opening time frame has not been announced for the new creperie.

In addition to the construction in this changing pavilion, you’ll also find changes at Les Chefs de France. A new Assiette du Pecheur replaces the Assiette de la Mer Florentine, Canard a la Orange replaces the Canard aux Cerises, and there is a new Filets de Truite Grenbloise. Bon Appetit!
The Japan pavilion is adding a new signature restaurant in addition to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. An opening time frame has not been announced for this new location yet.

Japan’s outdoor sake bar’s specialty cocktail is the Fuji Apple Cocktail made with sake and peach schnapps blended with granny smith apple syrup. This sounds very similar to the cocktail the Japan food booth offered during the 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
We do not know what this construction is for, and will be sure to keep you up-to-date with announcements and progress.
The pizza window in Italy, Pizza al Taglio, has re-opened during this busy season. There is a new Meatball Hero on the menu as well.
Be ready for some long lines at this popular quick-service location!
The train display in Germany is celebrating the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival this year with miniature Flower and Garden Festival flags and banners on display!
What’s New in Epcot’s Shops and Stores — New Merchandise!
We spotted two new must-have MagicBands. The first one is in the new and growing Most Magical Place on Earth collection.
This band features Cinderella Castle and our favorite mouse, Mickey!
The second must-have MagicBand celebrates Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.
You’ll find Main Street’s trolley, balloons, lights, train station, and more on this cute band.
The Disney D-Lish line grows again with some Disney Snack magnets, so now you can take a reminder of your favorite Disney snack home with you! While Disney snack magnets are not new to the scene, it looks like the magnets have been incorporated into the D-Lish line and the magnet choices have been expanded and updated within D-Lish.
Which one will you pick? Let us know in the comments below!
This is a lollipop that will last forever!
The shop in the Italy pavilion has a new feature display focused on all things lemons and limoncello. What a fun, bright collection for the spring and summer!
These will be perfect to use on a summer night.
