Customizing Your Commemorative Disney’s Walk Around the World Brick in Magic Kingdom
You may already be aware that Disney has announced that Disney’s Walk Around the World Bricks will soon be removed to allow for improvements for the comings and goings of guests.
The hexagonal bricks which you find along the walkways leading to Magic Kingdom and the Ticket and Transportation Center display the names of individuals and families who sponsored bricks as markers for special occasions or to “leave their mark” on Disney World.
If you are unfamiliar with the bricks or have not yet learned about their removal, you can read about it by clicking here. But if you are one of the folks who is already making plans to purchase a commemorative brick of your own, you may want to see how the in-person process works, as the commemorative versions are currently available at Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. in Magic Kingdom!
Note that you’ll also find a D-Tech location at the Marketplace Co-op in Disney Springs where you can make a purchase.
Though a screen is where you will ultimately enter your selections, several designs are on display to help you see which style you might like.
Options for customization include choosing an Art Style, personalizing your name(s) or special occasion, and adding a date.
You’ll confirm your order on the screen, then take your receipt to the register to purchase.
You can choose a 6 inch brick ($29.99) or an 8 inch brick ($49.99). Guests who originally sponsored a brick will receive a voucher to purchase their commemorative version for $10.00. The bricks will be shipped home — there is no picking them up at the location.
If you sponsored an original brick, but won’t be able to make it to Disney World before this offer ends on August 31, 2019, don’t worry! You can follow these guidelines for getting your commemorative brick online. And later this spring, the bricks will be available on ShopDisney.com even if you did not sponsor an original brick.
