What’s New in Epcot: Festival Booths, Topiaries, Construction, Mickey Pretzels, and more!
As Epcot’s Festival of the Arts prepares to close on February 25 signs the Flower and Garden Festival opening on March 6 are popping up! Our latest visit to Epcot saw some Flower and Garden food booths and topiaries being set up. But, that isn’t all, we also saw some construction progress, new merchandise, and some awesome chalk art!
We’ll start out with some Festival of the Arts chalk art — and deals!
What’s New with Epcot’s Festival of the Arts
This piece of chalk art is one of the many reasons we love the Festival of the Arts. It feels like this is a scene from the movie Ratatouille brought to life! Check out Remy making that ratatouille!
If you’ll be in Epcot for the Festival of the Arts this weekend you may find some “swell” deals like this Festival baseball hat — it was originally $27.99, now it is $15.00.
What’s New with Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival
The Flower and Garden Festival opens on March 6 (we’ll be there LIVE covering opening day), and we are already seeing some of the food booths, or Outdoor Kitchens as they are called during this Festival, getting set up!
If seeing this Outdoor Kitchen makes you hungry be sure to click here to read all of the 2019 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival Food Booth Menus.
In addition to food, another highlight of the Flower and Garden Festival are the topiaries dotted all around the park. Some of the more playful looking topiaries have already been put out on display in China!
Look at these pandas! We can’t get enough of them!
In the American Adventure pavilion they are setting up some of the structural support for the topiary going near the Outdoor Kitchen. In the past this has been home to Woody and the gang from Toy Story. We will see if they make this their home again as they celebrate their upcoming Toy Story 4 film.
What’s New in Epcot’s Future World
The Future World Hot Dog Cart is now selling Mickey Pretzels (with plastic cheese).
We also spotted a disappearance in this area. The cart that was selling a variety of pretzels and turkey legs is missing!
Sunshine Seasons in The Land pavilion had UDI Muffins in the bakery section on the day we were visiting the park. They sold these a long time ago, we do not know if these muffins are making a permanent return or not.
Look what we see in the background — that oh-so-yummy seasonal mini-cake celebrating the Festival of the Arts! Be sure to read our review of this seasonal cake that made our Best of the Fest list!
Lately, no visit to Epcot is complete without checking on the construction progress for the Guardians of the Galaxy ride opening in 2021.
The Guardians of the Galaxy ride isn’t the only addition coming to Epcot’s Future World. The new space-themed restaurant that is opening in 2020 between Mission:Space and Test Track is coming along quickly.
These aren’t the only additions coming to Future World — read about the just-announced new entrance plaza, Play Pavilion, and more coming to Epcot here!
What’s New in Epcot’s World Showcase
There are so many changes coming to Epcot! We can see signs of the park’s transformation all over World Showcase! The World Showcase Lagoon is preparing for IllumiNations replacement, Epcot Forever, in the Fall of 2019.
The Japan pavilion is preparing to welcome a new signature dining experience to the pavilion. This will be in addition to Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining.
We don’t know many details on this new restaurant, including an opening date, but will keep you posted!
The France pavilion is busy as they prepare for a new Beauty and Beast sing-along and Ratatouille-themed ride, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, to join the pavilion.
The Beauty and Beast sing-along will open “soon” and be in addition to the Impressions de France film, it will not replace the film.
Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride will open as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.
What’s New in Epcot’s Shops and Stores — New Merchandise!
Who is excited for Captain Marvel’s release on March 8? We spotted a new Captain Marvel tumbler in Epcot!
This new tumbler is available in Epcot, but don’t forget about the Captain Marvel Alex & Ani bracelet, or Her Universe Captain Marvel collection also available!
“it’s a small world” fans, there’s now an Alex and Ani bracelet just for you! The “it’s a small world” charm is double sided with the clock face on one side and “it’s a small world” on the flip side.
The France Pavilion has a new key chain with some classic French landmarks and icons on it — the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, and a yummy macaron!
Which color macaron will you choose?
If you are spending your Spring Break in Disney this year there’s a new t-shirt just for you! Mickey sure looks happy you’re here!
There is just so much going on in this park! And that isn’t all! Be sure to read about the just-announced new entrance and new Play Pavilion coming to Epcot here!
