What’s New in Disney Springs? Frosé, Potion Purple, Loaded Mac and Cheese and More: January 16, 2019
How about a nice, long stroll around Disney Springs?
With the ever-expanding options in Disney World’s shopping, dining, and entertainment district comes a TON of new stuff as well. We spy plenty of new finds everywhere we go, from super fun merchandise to construction progress on upcoming restaurants and more.
But today? Today we’re just talking about our favorite thing… NEW FOOD in Disney Springs!!
Let’s start this stroll on the West Side!
West Side
The Potion Purple craze just keeps growing stronger!
In addition to the newly released merchandise centered around the Potion Purple Minnie Ears, snacks galore keep popping up in Potion Purple. We spotted all sorts of classic confections in the shade at the Candy Cauldron.
Everything from Mickey Sugar Cookies to Krispy Treats to Caramel Apples can be found in Potion Purple.
By the way, we also spotted these same treats in the Marketplace at Goofy’s Candy Co.
At the YeSake kiosk, a few recent additions include an Appetizer selection featuring a Chicken Bun, Edamame, and Karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken).
The Cast Member we spoke with mentioned that the Chicken Bun is similar to the Bao at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
Town Center
Heading into Town Center, the current Breakfast Cupcake at Sprinkles is the Triple Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cupcake.
But these cereal options change quickly, so check out the rest of the options for this January specialty item here.
The seasonal Ice Cream is Red Velvet Bread Pudding.
And you can still celebrate the beginning of the New Year — for a little while longer, at least — as part of the seasonal mini cupcakes selection.
Woo!! Now at Chicken Guy!, you can get the same toppings that load up the Loaded Fries — SMC (that’s Super Melty Cheese), chopped grilled chicken, bacon and green onions — now on a new menu item.
Loaded Mac and Cheese!!
The Landing
Look who you’ll find peeking out from the options at The Ganachery!
These milk chocolate Mickey Mouse Ganache are just the cutest!!
Originally they were only intended for Mickey’s official birthday celebration in November, but who could resist keeping him around?
And steps away at Vivoli il Gelato, you can now start your day with Waffles.
We, of course, picked a Gelato Waffle, and you can read about it here!
January Sundae Specialties include Snickerdoodle, Chocolate Covered Banana, and Peanut Butter Brownie.
And that Spaghetti Sundae we talked about recently is still part of the current seasonal offerings!
And here’s a little something to still the chill in these winter months: Hot Chocolate Affogato — as well as Hot Chocolate — is available.
At Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC, a Boylan Bottling Soda selection (made with pure cane sugar) has been added.
The current specialty cupcake — which, like all other items here, is vegan and allergy-friendly — is a Blondie Cupcake.
Note that the soft-serve and milkshakes won’t be back here until February when the temperatures start to rise again.
But if you crave a cold treat, the Florida Snow Company is serving up their signature seasonal flavor of Shave Ice: the blueberry Ice Princess!
Marketplace
Our final destination is the Marketplace, where Earl of Sandwich has added some fun new items including the Best BLT Sandwich and a new Frose.
The Earl’s Gyro is seasonal.
Brrrrr…. The Snowflake Margarita is back at Dockside Diner for these chilly (no, seriously!) Florida days and nights!
And at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop, you’ll want to note the new way to score your chocolate square samples here.
They’ve also brought in plenty of Valentine’s Day merchandise.
Because what better treat for your Valentine than chocolate?
We’re sure to see plenty more where these came from as February approaches. But for now, let’s take one more chance to welcome the New Year… this time, from Disney Springs!
