Review: Black Bean Chips and Hummus at Magic Kingdom’s Tortuga Tavern
We stopped by Magic Kingdom’s Tortuga Tavern yesterday and happened upon a new addition to the menu.
This seasonally open Adventureland spot is currently serving Black Bean Chips with your choice of hummus: pineapple jalapeno, mango sriracha, or traditional.
We ordered up our black bean chips with the pineapple jalapeno hummus.
At $5.49 (or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit), we would’ve liked to have received a larger portion of the crunchy black bean tortilla-style chips.
It would’ve been nice to have more to scoop up the pineapple jalapeno hummus, which really is tasty! The jalapeno delivered only a hint of heat, while the pineapple left the much more prominent aftertaste.
It will be interesting to see if the Black Bean Chips return to the menu. Remember, Tortuga Tavern is a seasonal location, and with both the holidays and the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend wrapping up, it’s not listed with operating hours in the near future after tomorrow. But because crowds are always part of the consideration when planning trips to Disney World, we do seem to find Tortuga Tavern open more often than in the past, and we’ll keep an eye out to see the menu again soon… and maybe even try some of that Mango Sriracha hummus with those chips!
