What’s New at Hollywood Studios This Week: Skyliner Progress, Tatooine Traders Construction, and More Holiday Fun!
Between decorating for the holidays, construction of the all-new Disney Skyliner, and preparations for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we’re always finding something new at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Want to hear all about what we spotted this week? Let’s go!
What’s New Outside of the Park: Disney Skyliner Updates
Set to open in the fall of 2019, the Disney Skyliner gondola system is shaping up quickly!
The station is making progress, and some areas have already been outfitted with cabling.
On our visit, we noticed that the Hollywood Studios Skyliner Station is sporting some fresh new palm trees. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing the final result!
What’s New on Hollywood Boulevard
Remember a few weeks ago, when the stage and show for Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away were down for refurbishment? Well, both the stage and show are now back!
Adrian & Edith’s Head to Toe on Hollywood Boulevard recently transformed into more of a snack shop than a hat shop, but we noticed another small change, too!
The original artwork is still in the windows, but we spotted two new window signs!
The new signage is candy-focused (of course!) and says “We’ve got treats for every craving!” and “Make your day a little sweeter!” So it looks like this is the replacement for Sweet Spells after all.
Moving on over to Mickey’s of Hollywood: Remember when World of Disney‘s exclusive Mickey Mouse Club merchandise line launched back in October?
Well, Mickey Mouse Club merch is finally making its way to other shops throughout Walt Disney World!
This vintage-inspired line has something for everyone, from jackets to shoes and tees to hats.
Some existing pieces of Disney merchandise, like the sparkly Minnie ears and the puffy Mickey gloves, go perfectly with the Mickey Mouse Club merch aesthetic.
What’s New on Sunset Boulevard
Craving at not-so-sweet snack at Hollywood Studios this holiday season? Cuties are now available at Anaheim Produce.
A three-pack of these juicy California Mandarins will set you back $4.19 or one Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit.
When you’re ready for a mid-day pick-me-up, the nearby Joffrey’s Coffee and Tea stand is offering Mickey’s 90th Birthday Coffee as well as seasonal selections.
Next time you drop in to experience Tower of Terror, be sure to look for this new photo opportunity – two bellhops and a luggage cart – just outside of the attraction.
What’s New Around Echo Lake
We still can’t get enough of the Echo Lake Flurry of Fun holiday decor.
Speaking of holidays, guess what’s back on the menu? That’s right – the Chocolate Chestnut Pinecone, Frozen Hot Cocoa, and Olaf Cupcake at Backlot Express!
While the Chocolate Chestnut Pinecones have been selling out quickly, Cast Members mentioned that they’re making an effort to keep more of them in stock.
Yes, that’s a new building going up near Tatooine Traders! What could it be!? We’re guessing it might have a little something to do with Star Wars Land, aka Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (scheduled to open late fall 2019!).
What’s New in the Animation Courtyard
Over in the Animation Courtyard, the Share Your Ears Wall and the construction walls are gone.
Heavy foliage has replaced the construction wall, though, so we weren’t able to see much.
Just like its sister stand over on Sunset Boulevard, the Joffrey’s location near the entrance to Toy Story Land has the Mickey’s 90th Birthday Coffee, too!
What’s New in Toy Story Land
Andy must have been busy, because this golden macaroni art ornament definitely wasn’t here when we stopped by to check out the Christmas decor in Toy Story Land a few weeks ago. ADORABLE!
New Holiday Facepainting
Ready to get festive? Special holiday faceprinting designs are available in the Animation Courtyard and near Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster. Designs run between $14 – $20.
