Review: Holiday Treats at the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House (Plus Jack-Jack’s Cookie Num Nums Alert!)
We just brought you the news that the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is open in its new location, and now we’re back with reviews of a few of the holiday treats you can expect to find there this year!
S’mores Cookie
On the Gingerbread House’s opening day at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, we tried the Apple-Cinnamon Cupcake, Mickey Head Gingerbread Ornament, and S’mores Cookie.
The Apple-Cinnamon Cupcake is made of spiced vanilla cake, cinnamon frosting, vanilla frosting, and apple filling. It’s $5.50 and eligible for for a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

The vanilla frosting is piped over the top of the cinnamon frosting, which made for a delicious combination. While there was a lot of frosting, it wasn’t too much. We love the artistic touches for each layer, too!

There wasn’t a ton of apple filling, but the flavor was strong and present throughout the whole cupcake. The apples were still slightly crisp, too, which added a really nice texture! Honestly, we loved this one. (We’ve been having some good luck with apple cupcakes this season — check out the Apple Cupcake and Not-so-Poison Apple Cupcake reviews!)

Isn’t this Mickey Gingerbread Ornament beautiful? It’s made from the classic Austrian Lubkuchen gingerbread recipe. Each one costs $10.

Decorated by hand, each cookie is unique and spectacular. You’ll find dozens of colors, textures, and artistic touches! In addition to the Mickey head, a Nutcracker shape is also available.

These cookies are designed to be ornaments, so they’re thick and sturdy. You *can* eat it if you’d like to, but we don’t recommend it.

So, if you’re going to use your Mickey Gingerbread Ornament to decorate, get one. They’re beautiful, and your home will smell sooo good. But if you’re looking for a treat to actually eat, we suggest choosing from the dozens of other items available at the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House.

Last but not least: the S’mores Cookie. These little babies were popular! In fact, they sold out within the first hour of the Gingerbread House being open. It’s not hard to see why:

Imagine an extra-large, extra-thick chocolate chip cookie (YES THESE ARE TOTALLY JACK-JACK’s COOKIE NUM NUMS!) topped with toasted marshmallows and miniature M&Ms. It’s $5 and Disney Dining Plan snack credit-eligible.

If you were thinking that sounds amazing, you’re right! The cookie was the perfect combination of chewy and crunchy. The toasted marshmallows were decadently gooey, and the mini M&Ms added a nice crunch. Be warned, though: the marshmallows make this S’mores Cookie especially sticky. (It’s worth it.)

The S’mores Cookie and Apple-Cinnamon cupcake were amazing. Can’t decide between chocolate, a cookie, and marshmallow? Get the S’mores Cookie. Feeling soft, fluffy cake, sweet, creamy frosting, and a nice bit of apple cinnamon flavor? Pick the Apple-Cinnamon Cupcake.
